I'm typing on my wife of 53 years FB page as I listen to this. She's sleeping on the sofa after her chemo treatment--thankfully she's OK & has only 3 more treatments. After 53 yrs I still 'can hardly wait to hold her & feel my arms around her'
May Irene be stronger than the monster. 53 years is a beautiful thing that not many get. And you still want to hold each other! That's the most beautiful part.
Tomorrow will mark the first year of my mother's passing. She was the warmest, kindest, most non-judgmental person I've ever known. Sorry for your loss.
Burt Bacharach was a singular songwriting talent. And Diana Krall did something rare, coming along decades after this song was originally recorded and covered by so many famous artists, performing a traditional take of the song and making it hers. It really says something about her voice and her talent.
You're so right! This is Diana Krall's song, in all it's simplicity....yet you get goosebumps listening to it. Same as many other Burt Bacharach's and Hal Da
Didn't get to finish...Hal David' s collaborations. ALL the songs are as current today as ever and it didn't take but a great singer to "make it theirs", by only singing the song, nothing more ADDED, nothing more NEEDED!
I sing this song softly while smoking a cigarette alone in my room. Thinking about the love of my life. Who stayed my side when I was diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder and PTSD. He helped me out of addiction from drugs and alcohol and now the first time in my life I am stable and really, truly happy. This song describes good what I feel, even if this feeling can't described. I love him from the bottom of my heart.
So happy for you MB! Am so glad to hear that someone found you when you needed them the most. You owe it to yourself to find a way to smile-it will let the whole world smile with you!

You are blessed to have such a supportive and loving partner (as am I ...would not be here now had it not been for my wonderful French wife Nicole)
The look of love is in your eyes The look, your smile can't disguise The look of love, it's saying so much more Than just words could ever say And what my heart has heard, well it takes my breath away I can hardly wait to hold you, feel my arms around you How long I have waited, waited just to love you Now that I have found you You've got the look of love, is on your face A look that time can't erase Be mine tonight Let this be just the start of so many nights like this Let's take a lover's vow and then seal it with a kiss I can hardly wait to hold you, feel my arms around you How long I have waited, waited just to love you Now that I have found you, don't ever go, don't ever go I love you so
Diana's music stirs so many emotions within the deepest depths of my soul, of love, gratitude, tenderness, longing, & sadness from the loss of my wife. My one & only forever true love, my amazingly wonderful, beautiful wife Helen. We loved listening to Diana's music as we'd tenderly embrace each other & glide across the floors of our home as though on a heavenly cloud.
