Official Music video for Home to Alaska performed by Lee Greenwood from his 1989 album If For Only One Night filmed in Alaska. #LeeGreenwood #HomeToAlaska
Lee...you have just made me cry, because I would love SO much to go back for a visit to Alaska. I lived there from 1951 (age 2) through mid-1978. By that time I had lived in (what I consider my home town) Valdez, College (a suburb of Fairbanks), Anchorage, Soldotna, Seward, back to Anchorage, then back to Valdez, before heading with my mom and my first four children down to the Orange County area of California, and then up into the Sierras above Porterville. I've never been able to get back to Alaska. My brother still lives there, in Valdez, and he still has our old P.O. Box address, and our old phone number. I'm almost 72 now, and he turned 70 in July. We both feel that there is NO state that can truly compete with Alaska. I miss it so much. Thank you for sharing this song that I never knew you had done!
I know so much about Lee Greenwood's music and somehow and I am sure why I have never heard this great song. This video is amazing and I love the song.
This is one from the "If Only For One Night" album, and it's one he wrote. Not only does he sing a good song, but he also writes one. This here's an underrated masterpiece!
I met Lee back in the 1970's, he has singing in the Plaza at the Tropicala Hotel. I worked in reservations , in nu breaks l would fi watch him sing.God bless , Lee love You and wish You the Best. Jacquie
