@@diligoscientia The context is the entire bible, however we can get more specific here and show that the context is the entire book of 1 John.
If you proceed to the previous chapter (1John 2), John is clearly communicating that Christ continues to show his love for us in being our advocate before the father. Without Christ we are doomed to the wrath of God (This is also covered in the book of Hebrews with Christ being our mediator before the father).
Let me share some scriptures so I wonât be seen to be a liar;

âMy little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.â

Here, we see the writer communicating to the people that God understands our weakness, to temptation. We fight our flesh daily so that we do not gratify the desires of the flesh. However, because we are imperfect Christ is our advocate and intercedes on our behalf for our sins (again in Hebrews).
God is a just God, and he is merciful and makes a way for us to live imperfectly but be accepted before the him.
What John is also speaking about is people who âpracticeâ or âcontinueâ to sin out of their own desires without repentance. That is clearly in the text. When you become a Christian you do not instantly become perfect. Christ makes NO promises of that, so to try and draw that conclusion from the text is illogical, inconsistent and a blatant attempt to discredit scripture using far fetched claims.
That is the context. Read the scriptures if you think I am lying.

You gotta remember that Islam is a 7th century AD religion. Moses was given the Law and commandments by God around 1400BC. He wrote his experiences in Exodus and his other books. Christ lived, died and rose again in the early part of the 1st century AD. The gospel writers who were with him during his ministry and wrote about his actions. Mohammed lived between AD 570-632. He wasn't a Jew so knew nothing about the Law of Moses. Nor did he ever meet Christ. Nor was Mohammed even prophesied. So take everything the Quran has to say with a pinch of salt. The Quran even denies Christs crucifixion.
@@WHU63 The Books GIVEN to Moses by Allah were destroyed when the children of Israel were taken captive into Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar. The rabbis wrote their own version of the Torah. The oldest Torah, minus the book of Esther,are manuscripts in the dead sea scrolls. Do you really think that Moses writing about his own death and Deuteronomy 34:5? The manuscripts used to compile the New Testament are anonymous. More than half of them are attributed to Paul. But scholars are not sure. Islam means a submission to the creator. Islam is the first true religion practiced by Adam.
That is the reason you need the *perpetual cleansing* from all your sins by the precious blood of Jesus Christ the Lord.

You can not enter the Kingdom of Heaven without believing in JESUS CHRIST as your Lord and Saviour.

So Moses was god as well? Cuz ı never seen someone who can seperate sea in two parts, so Abraham was god as well? Cuz ı never seen someone who dont get burn inside the fire, so Solomon was god as well? Cuz ı never seen someone who can control the wind and also able to speak with animals. So Mohammed was god as well? Cuz ı never seen someone who can separate the moon in 2 parts... ı could give you many more miracles which prophets had by the permission of God, they are beloved prophets same as Jesus ( peace be upon him ) . None of the Prophets you mentioned had the Authority to raise the dead and forgive sins.
Only God can do those things and only Jesus did them!
He was accused, blamed and judged for those things.
The other Prophets were given permission, but was God operating, doing miracles.
In the case of Jesus, he was given Authority, so he was acting in autonomy.
If you notice for the other Prophets there was always God telling them what to do before they did miracles.
About Jesus, he didn't happen the same way, he did miracles without God's instructions, that's the difference!
Btw I'm not even Christian and I don't follow the Abrahamitic Religions.
So I'm not going to debate as well, but when I read the Bible I noticed this difference...
