I was lucky enough to see this film during its blink-and-you-missed-it theatrical run, and the audience at my local Connecticut grindhouse, a pack of drunks and junkies who were used to all manner of cinematic trash, could not believe what they were seeing as it played.

Horror Express. When that was shown on the TV here in the UK, it scared the crap out of my young self. No sleeping without the lights on that night and no mistake! Think it was the white eyes thing that did my nut in. Watched it recently and still found it quite creepy. That haunting whistle in the main theme is, even now, relatively chilling. Although, Telly Savalas' non-existent Russian Cossack accent is superb for balance. I've heard that it was loosely based on the short story Who Goes There? Which became the basis of John Carpenter's remake of The Thing.

Fun bit of trivia that I learned from the Grindbin podcast: the singer of the band is the grandson of the writer, hence his inclusion.

Wow!! I'm surprised I've never come across the crazy flick before and that 3rd segment definitely led to a "tum's festival".

Just thought I would give a couple good suggestions for the show and if anyone else thinks so hit that like button!!!
    1. I come in peace / Dark Angle starring Dolph Lundgren. 1990
    2. Maximum Overdrive: the Stephen king movie with Emilio Estevez
I love both these bad yet awesome movies...
