Agree 1000%. In a way I almost hate to hear the songs again, it gives me such a longing for those times 🙁Not just youth but it was just such a different time, the feelings that come when hearing the music of the 80s. It really takes me there. I can specifically remember occasions when certain songs came on the radio, exactly where I was, what I was doing at the time & even the very first time I heard them. The song that is forever attached to that one person you think of when you listen to it 30+ years later. Too young to appreciate back then, but old enough to understand that “seasons” do change 😢
I do. I was a around 9 when this came out and wished to be an adult. Now I hear this and wish to go back and stay a kid. These day's were EVERYTHING. Can we make a time machine and go back and stay there forever😞
You only realize how special the 80s were when you come across songs like this..now I"m in my 50s and truly know what my parents ment when they would the expression "The Good Old Days''
JFC. The first four comments under this video pretty much say the exact same thing. Yes, we get it, life was better for you when you were younger, just like what 99.99999999% of all people have said or will say about the decade they grew up in as well. Love this song, and many others from this time, but overall, the 80's were a terrible decade for music.
There will never be another decade like the 80's. Beautiful time to be alive and in love. Music will never be the same. Much simpler times. Miss it so much!!!!
Completely agree will NEVER be a time like the 80s. No cell phone or internet just connecting with people and sharing music and MTV videos by telling them on the phone but mostly in person
Yeah it was a great time to be in love I use to buy all the latest love songs on 45s and she still has them till this day. It was a great decade I absolutely loved it.✌️😎🙏
44 year old man and this is one of my most favorite songs of the 80's. The 80's have long since been my favorite era of music. I don't remember my childhood in it's entirety, but I remember the music and the music reminds me of how I felt. I don't remember most of daily life, but I remember that I missed my dad all the time and being with him was the only time I felt secure. I remember that I was imaginative and usually depressed and didn't connect with people, and the music helped me cope because it was all I had. Ironically, as an adult, I sometimes can't listen to music at all because the emotion it elicits is almost bewildering and I have unhealthy thoughts. Anyway, I digress. I love this song. Gets the wheels turnin in my head though.
It doesn't matter if it's pop, rock, r&b, country etc.. if it's the 80's era, then it's the absolute best!!! I forgot hip hop!!! No era of music or videos can even come close!!! #80sMusicRulesAndStillDoes
I’m so sad .. I just want my kids to be happy and have a good life .. people in this World make it so hard ... appreciate the little things in life wish I could go back but we got to keep going forward ... so glad I grew up in the 80s as this is one of my fav songs forever
Your kids are growing up in a different time than we did, Dee. As such, the things that make them happy may not necessarily be the same things that made us happy. They'll figure it out on their own, just like we did. Have you ever read the following from poet Kahlil Gibran? If not, maybe you will enjoy it. On Children Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable. Kahlil Gibran The Prophet, 1923
The 80s were a fine wine that we gulped down without realizing what we had at the time. Now 40 years later we sip them through music like this reminiscing how magical those times were. The movies, the music, the culture, and the fashion will be etched in our minds forever!
BMX bikes, pop tarts and feathers on roach clips. Got to love the eighties. I remember the girls wearing neon socks 😅. We made our own mixed tapes straight from the radio. No need for edited versions. Jolly Rancher Sticks was the best candy.
This song reminds me of me and my friends growing up in 1987 and turn 18yrs old being young adults and realize we're not kids anymore. I'm 54 yrs and now and time seems like its moving faster . 2023
Developments in media, technology, and globalization have resulted in a very very fast pace of life in 2023. Many people feel the way you do and because you have the blessing of a long life, you have so much perspective on the way things used to be in your memory. Most people, as they look back on the past, report favorable aggregate memories of their youth, while some others tend to remember only the bad things. But, I hope you know that we're living in a turbulent, but fascinating, period of history. And there's good reason to be optimistic about the future, even though it's hard to imagine right now. Cheers!
@theonlyonestanding8079 You are so much like me, that it's scary. You're on the right track. We can choose to be angry and we can choose to be sad. We can choose to seek revenge or We can choose to forgive and love. I would encourage you not to fret about days gone by, because we cannot change those days. We should not be afraid about tomorrow, because it may not get here for us. I would recommend that you concern yourself only with today, this moment. Let's try to make our moments the best they can be.
'Seasons Change' is one of those rare inspired songs. Beautifully written, wonderfully performed. A classic that will sound just as sweet a century from now to future generations as it does to us today.
Everyone thinks the decade they grew up in was the best. The thing that makes the 80's so special, is that all things converge at the same time to its highest point...Music, TV, Movies, Fashion, Technology, (obviously not the highest point) but things really turned tech wise in the 80's as well, video games, pagers, cell phones etc. What a time to be ALIVE!
If people judge the decades fairly that lived through the 80s most will say the 80s were the best. I liked the 90s too but something happened around 1998.
Not gonna lie. I'm now a grown A$$ man and when I hear this song it reminds me of the old days and I tear up. Tears of joy though. GREAT memories listening to this song from HS. And the damn words are so very TRUE til this day!
Same here, this songs take me back to a place when we would have family reunions, with my granny, uncles, aunts, cousins, mom and dad. A lot of those people has passed on. How I wish I could see my parents and hug them again
Great song. The only people that could truly have appreciation for this type of music are the ones that lived it. Living it brings out a different type of feeling. Nostalgia. Those were the days! I can’t turn back the clock but, my 80s playlist does! Seasons change…
Sometimes, I wish I could walk back in time to the 80’s. Then I just close my eyes and see it all again. So blessed to have grown up during that time.❤️
10 seconds into this and I am magically transported back to 1987, listening to this gem on the radio. If a time machine existed, I would go back to the 80s in a heartbeat. Who's with me ?
+Mark Flanigan -- Indeed. It amazes me how people today can't hear how 'off' someone is, even with autotune. The computers are working overtime to swing someone back toward the proper note, and still can't keep up. Because the Producers hire pretty faces that sing in a key unknown to mankind. Even worse though is when someone who can actually sing lazily allows the Producers to autotune them anyway for the sake of _'effect'_.
Carla Gugino has a quote in the movie “Watchmen”. Quote “I’m 67 years old, everyday the future looks a bit darker, but the past, even the grimy parts of it keep on getting better”. An exceptional line for the most part, however; call me a futurist but I think those of us who knew this era, kind of figured it was really lovely, at that moment. For me this song perfectly encapsulates a farewell to a time it seems many of us were reluctant to let go of, cause we could appreciate the value that living throughout this decade possessed. Never again will the 80s be, but your words, comments and affinity for this time, is contentious and gives me tremendous hope; having lived to witness arguably one of the greatest times in modern history.
Oh man this takes me back to early 1988. Junior High days when you had to wear Guess and Esprit to be cool and songs like this were on continuous play. It's crazy how a song can make you remember those feelings so intensely. I miss those days. The world is a far too confusing place today. I wish I could go back.
I hear you about that but let me tell you it was more fun back then I was a male groupie back then I was so in love with these girls I was stationed at Ft Campbell My and I went to three states to see their concerts Tn Ky Ind and it was well worth it lok
By far the best decade in music. The passion in the 80’s will never be matched ever again. My best memories are from the 80’s. I love you Stephanie Huffman! If you ever see this please let me know you seen it. ❤💙❤️🔥❤️🩹💙❤️

As someone who grew up in the 80's, I'd say it was one of the worst overall decades of music in the last 70 years. Don't get me wrong, some of my favorite songs came from the 80's, but compared to the likes of the 60's, 70''s, and 90's, the 80's doesn't stand a chance.
May 2024, I’m still here, still listening to the greatest era of music, culture, fashion, missing my childhood. I grew up without a mom, my dad was wrapped up in his own affairs. I grew up with music and the streets, Brooklyn, NY. I’m 59 now and the 80’s was the best.
This song is BEAUTIFUL! How the 80s was and is MAGICAL ✨ How many people had the same situations, vacation or holiday in 80s as video and never saw your friends since that time. 80s make me cry and happy in the same time. I was a child in 80s, was born in 1985, remind few things about that, didn't spend my time enjoying that time, but I miss what I didn't live. Something change, really people and situations changes. Maybe this song will be my weekend song 🏠🍃
I wasn't looking for this song just reminiscing on the 80s a bit. I nearly forgot I ever heard it, but when I clicked on the video and heard this song after all these years...; let's just say I cried like a newborn left alone in the delivery room. I'm a 44 year old grown ass man and hearing this song brought the bitch out of me that I never knew I had inside. I digress yall. Long love the 80's
Miguel Ochoa I appreciate those kind words; if anyone cares I want to create some context for my initial post. I'm no weeping willow; before I stumbled on this song I hadn't cried in years. I insisted on uncovering the purpose behind those tears. Deep soul searching & a 5th of Casa Vieja tequila finally revealed the answer. I was about 9 or so when I moved from SoCal back to DC; leaving behind all my friends and those warm beautiful Southern Cali sunsets. No tears at the time though; I was just pissed me and my buddy wouldn't be playing with GoBots together anymore. I had no clue I harbored these profound feelings tucked beneath this masculine exterior. Point being. If you're blessed to allow yourself to embrace the mysteries this life possess, you may discover those emotions are only the beginning of your journey. I don't know when Lewis Martinee' wrote and Expose' performed this song what effect it would have on this crusty old dude, but forever am I in their debt. This song cut me deep. It provided the soundtrack that coincided with a lost childhood memory I suppressed all these years, and at the time I was ill-equipped to process those emotions. "Seasons Change, Feelings Change" and forever has this song changed me.
I was born in 2001 - 21 now and for some reason I always longed to be born in the early 80s….but my mom is 77’ and my dad is 72’ 😂😂😂. I listen to/watch everything 80s, I liked the nostalgic feeling like I was there at some point
I was in high school when this song came out. 35 years later, it takes me right back to those days & really makes me miss it! Things were so much simpler then! The world was definitely a better place!
I have not listened to this song for maybe 2 decades. Life was much simpler. Life was good. I truly miss it and wish I could have given the type of freedoms and safety to my children. I’m thankful to God that I got to grow up listening to this type of beautiful music.
man 1988 was the fuckin best, great music, great movies, black micheal Jackson was all over the place, Molly Ringwald was in every movie. the 80s was the best time ever in life.
Donise Brooks good times for sure. Whole time period was great. Mid 80s through mid 90s. It's all went to hell now. The world is a mess now and were closer to a nuclear exchange with Russia than we have ever been. God I miss this time period!
@Love Faithfully I feel ya. The distributor(radio stations, networks) control who gets played on air so that why I listen to u-tube and got a bluetooth radio in my car to dictate what I want to hear.
I can only listen to this song every so often. It's so tightly linked to a very bittersweet feeling of my first real love. When I play it, it rushes back and I see the road from then to now, wondering where and why things went as they did. To be this open, this vulnerable, this in love again. Damn. I'm closer to death than to this time of my life. I've wasted it all. What a shame.

I heard this song the other day and it made me cry. I wish to God we could go back in time to the 80's and just live there. You know what I'm saying?
Alone. You are not my friend. Long love the 80s
unfortunately the thing that makes something special, is that it doesnt last forever. Just be thankful that you were lucky enough to have lived it.
I do. I was a around 9 when this came out and wished to be an adult. Now I hear this and wish to go back and stay a kid. These day's were EVERYTHING. Can we make a time machine and go back and stay there forever😞
There's always a possibility that popular music will be this good again.

You only realize how special the 80s were when you come across songs like this..now I"m in my 50s and truly know what my parents ment when they would the expression "The Good Old Days''
The were issues in the 80's as well, but that was the decade of my teens, I miss those carefree days of youth.

Every decade is special
JFC. The first four comments under this video pretty much say the exact same thing. Yes, we get it, life was better for you when you were younger, just like what 99.99999999% of all people have said or will say about the decade they grew up in as well. Love this song, and many others from this time, but overall, the 80's were a terrible decade for music.
Omg it’s sooooo TRUE!!!
There will never be another decade like the 80's. Beautiful time to be alive and in love. Music will never be the same. Much simpler times. Miss it so much!!!!
The greatest time of my life, l wish l could go back in time.

@@tamaraknighten7378 absolutely agree. I was born in 66. In the South Bronx.

On Children
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.
Kahlil Gibran
The Prophet, 1923

I’m 53 and feel ya! ❤️❤️

'Seasons Change' is one of those rare inspired songs. Beautifully written, wonderfully performed. A classic that will sound just as sweet a century from now to future generations as it does to us today.
So poetic and beautifully written and performed.

Now THIS was music!! Ladies who could actually harmonize and hold real notes on their own.
+Mark Flanigan What? No Auto-Tune?
Born 83 dude
cant classify everybody bro
+Mark Flanigan -- Indeed. It amazes me how people today can't hear how 'off' someone is, even with autotune. The computers are working overtime to swing someone back toward the proper note, and still can't keep up. Because the Producers hire pretty faces that sing in a key unknown to mankind. Even worse though is when someone who can actually sing lazily allows the Producers to autotune them anyway for the sake of _'effect'_.

The melody, harmonies, guitar, sax and synth are just flawless on this track.

As someone who grew up in the 80's, I'd say it was one of the worst overall decades of music in the last 70 years. Don't get me wrong, some of my favorite songs came from the 80's, but compared to the likes of the 60's, 70''s, and 90's, the 80's doesn't stand a chance.

Its ok I'm a 43 year old woman and crying right now listening to this song,i feel you
Miguel Ochoa I appreciate those kind words; if anyone cares I want to create some context for my initial post.
Who else is going through all their classic jams thinking about how life was back in the days ?

I can only listen to this song every so often. It's so tightly linked to a very bittersweet feeling of my first real love. When I play it, it rushes back and I see the road from then to now, wondering where and why things went as they did. To be this open, this vulnerable, this in love again. Damn. I'm closer to death than to this time of my life. I've wasted it all. What a shame.
