Wow I have never seen a verse taken out of context like this. The reason why the Samaritan woman lived in the manner she did, was just as a result of our sinful nature. Jesus actually shows mercy to every sinner as she did to this woman and forgives her sins for her to gain salvation. Once you are saved and the Holy Spirit resides in you, sin starts decreasing over time. So in a nutshell what this woman was doing is what is expected of anyone unsaved, but once you are saved you possess the power to overcome sin.
