    I used my 3D printer to heat my iPad. I set the heated bed to 70 degrees and heated for 10 minutes with a thin silicone pad between the iPad and printer bed. Worked like a charm!

      @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs Před 9 měsíci

      That’s a really good idea I have 6 3d printers myself. I was thinking of using my tshirt press but that likely would get too hot. The printer bed is actually the perfect temps. You don’t need much heat I’ve heard just like 120 degrees f is enough I’ve been told.

      @iddqds Před 8 měsíci

      i have a heatpad. i slowly worked between 40 degrees and finally raised to 50 degrees to soften the screen adhesive. i put the heatpad on again to 50 degrees when i work on screen side. basically heated the rear side continuously until the whole glass removed. it took ages. i scared to damage the screen with 70 defrees heat. that's why.

    I enjoyed your video as a reference/guide for this model's dieassembly. I was specifically looking for where the flex cables are that I will need to avoid while slicing off the digitizer on this exact iPad model that I have not yet worked with. I have repaired maybe 200 iPads but have been out of the repair business for roughly 4 years. So this device is newish to me. They are all a little different and for all I know the flex cables could have moved. Remember the changes from the iPhone 6s plus to the 7 plus? How about the iPhone 4s to the 5? I do. Don't bother listening to any naysayers. Your video is golden. I am repairing this device as a favor for my boss and his wife. I do not want to set them back financially or waste their time. You have helped me on my repair mission.
    Further kudos:
    - Thank you for including the model number in the video name. This made you easy to find.
    - Thank you for leaving the digitizer issues that you experienced during repair in the video and for emphasizing the importance of testing before sealing the device. I've made this mistake a couple of times and appreciate the reminder not to make it again. Nothing can slow down a repair like starting all over because of a failure to verify a part before allowing the glue to dry.
    - Thank you for mentioning the use of dragging the assistive touch feature button as a test method. This seems easier than rotating a keyboard to all 4 screen orientations.
    The only Improvement that I would suggest is being sure to note a maximum temperature or a preferred temperature to heat the ipad to so that your viewers don't burn their LCDs.
    Well done all around. Excellent demonstration of process, great video quality and great sound clairity. I hope your team appreciates you. We do.

    Hi, i got a swollen battery that wont charge ect BUT also the touch is playing up. Can bad battery ever effect touch? or do i have a bad M/b too? I could jump power to the connector and try with nominal voltage but every time other ipad i have worked on when touch stops or is trouble, m/b chips ect are too blame. Ask what you think?

    What temperature is safe to loosen the adhesive, yet not damage the iPad? I have replaced a few samsung phone screens using a heat gun, but heated only the edges.

    • @tupetsi430
      @tupetsi430 Před rokem +1

      I've destroyed many S3 and S4 screens with a heat gun. In my experience if the surface temperature gets too hot to touch, then you should stop.

    My ipad pro fall down and now I notice there is little gap between the screen and the outside frame .. I tried to push the screen down but that doesn’t fix the issue should I put superglue and then push the screen down .. the screen is working and the gap is like 5 mm .. I am worried that in longterm will affect the ipad especially that I see some dust there .. can you help with advice please..

    • @MrPhoneDoctor
      @MrPhoneDoctor  Před 4 měsíci

      No never use super glue. Google e8000 glue and use this.
      Find something to clamp the screen down while glue cures.
