I say "Below average" when I meant to say "Above average" sorry everyone
its nice to have a lens reviewer who can actually take really nice photos
oh thank you very much!
You always have the most interesting and diverse shots! Love it!
Thanks so much!
Awesome video Pav! Loved it, very informative and some amazing photos taken with this beast 🔥
Thanks guys!
Great review and a stunning lens. Don't need it, but, well, you know....
thanks!
Excellent video as always. The light and color of the setting you were in was refreshing. Good to switch it up like this. As for the lens, I feel the price is warranted considering this is the best prosumer astro and landscape lens for Sony now. The 20mm Art has been incredible- can only imagine how good this is as well. Great job on their part to include rear filter compartments in the lens cap. They’re demonstrating their unwillingness to skimp on the details or quality- this small detail of the whole product is arguably the most telling bit about Sigma’s commitment to excellence. They could’ve rushed it out but it instead ties everything together. In regard to the weight, it’s fine considering anyone using this will be carrying a tripod as well anyway. All things you’ve expressed in a different way already.
Sigma are really smashing it. This lens is amazing. As well as the lens cap you have the manual focus ring off switch, as you say, the little things make a huge difference
Excellent review Pav and some really nice sample images in there. Good effort trying to cut your own filters too, I've always shied away from it! Interesting you got the L-mount version too, as I only ever get sent e-mount ones...
Thanks Gordon!
Yeah, cutting the filters out was a bit of disaster.
I always have been testing e-mount ones but I have asked for L-mount this time. There is no more disadvantage to test a lens on Lumix camera
Wow! nice job man.
Thanks!
Nice review 😊
Thank you 😊
Sigma certainly make some quality lenses. Thanks Pav
Yes they do! Thanks!
I think for the filters I'd rather get the ones you can clip into the front of the camera itself, in front of the sensor. Still a load of hassle and still very expensive. But at least that way the one filter can be clipped in and you can swap out the lenses at will. Thanks for the review!
there is no easy or cheap solution for this
This lens is perfect! You are perfect ❤😉
I love you too ❤
holly wow!
Thanks!
@@PavSZ Thank you, you are doing a tremendous job, one of the few who gives high-quality information and excellent examples of photos
0:01 Great review! With which camera and what lens did you shoot this review? The bokeh is awesome and the picture quality is at a very high level
thanks!
Iw was all shot on Lumix S5IIX and Lumix 85mm f1.8 lens
Would you still recommend this on a crop sensor? Or should i find something wider? Also great video!
Thanks!
Only you can decide. I don't know what you shoot and how wide you need. Very personal. What I think is OK, might not be for your style and your camera. This is an amazing lens but it is big and heavy. Only you'd know if that's something that is OK for you or not
How does this compare against the much smaller/lighter Sony 14mm f/1.8GM lens ? Also, against the 14mm of the 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN ART lens (which I personally have) ?
This is the best out of three optically. Sony has got more chromatic aberration but it is smaller and lighter (and only f1.8). 14-24 is a zoom, so more versatile overall. I have reviewed them all here on my channel
Great review.I heard you mention Haida rear ND is too thick. Did you try to mount Haida rear ND. I have one. If it can use with this lens. It will be great.
no, Heida rear nd filters that work with Sigma 14-24 are too thick for this lens
@@PavSZ Thank you for confirm.
what r u shooting ur vedio with ; love the quality
this was filmed with Lumix S5IIx and I think 85mm f1.8
Pav I love your work and your channel! Keep it up! however at 1:25 I hear you using the phrase "below average" when you should be saying "better than average". I understand less is better in this case, but the message isn't as clear here. I think you said the same thing on the Viltrox review. I love your work!
Good point! Thank you for spotting it. That's what happens when I don't script things. I meant 'above average'. Sorry about that
THis lens reminds me of my
