- In this video we walk through the process of installing a replacement RV window, purchased through motionwindows.com, also known as Peninsula Glass out of Vancouver, WA. Stay tuned at the end for the blooper reel, which I decided to include, just to keep it real! All in all, the project turned out great. Check out my other RV and DIY videos. Thanks. Buckwsr, putting the "Do" into "Do-It-Yourself."

I believe you should leave a small gap in the foam tape at the bottom. This is to let any water that will comes off the aluminum frame and window on the inside a way to escape.
Awesome channel thank you
Hey Buckwsr, I just binge watched your first 15 videos. Very impressed with your work, your commentary and your filming. I'm surprised to see so few followers. They are missing some great videos. Cheers
Thank you, Sir. Are you also an RV owner?
@@Buckwsr I have a travel trailer. I'm thinking about a Class A. With the price of these rigs, I might just look at one that needs some remodelling.
@@jamesmcarthur5787 Yes. The new ones are just too expensive. And I have enjoyed rehabilitating this 98 Bounder. I wish you good luck. Thanks again for watching my videos.
Great video but I have a couple of questions.
Hi long does it take to do the job?
Why did you need to take out the inside trim?
Thanks, have to replace mine.
Hey buck have you ever had problems with blinkers not working, tks rick
Thanks for the videos covering you window replacement. I have the same 98 bounder and need to pick up a new drivers side window as well. Do you mind sharing the measurements you used for your window order?
Here's a link to my window measurement video:. czcams.com/video/FbzAleczBQg/video.html.
In my case, rough opening was 46" wide by 31.5" high. Wall thickness is 1 and 7/8", and a 2.5" corner radius. I would be sure to measure your window and not just assume it is identical to mine. Good luck!
Great video I need to do the same with mine. I have a couple of questions.
How long does the job take?
Why is there a need to replace the inside trim?
The inside trim is a big part of what secures the window to the RV. Sort of clamps it into place. Yes, it is essential. Your new window will come with a new inside trim.
Hi, we have the same rv just different years.
Nice install.
I noticed you have the same backup monitor as I have.
Question, does you backup camera system work?
Hi Kelly, my back-up camera system works pretty well. At first it did not work, and I discovered a blown fuse in the line behind the monitor screen. Not sure why it had blown, but I replaced it and seems fine now.
Was there a particular foam tape you used? Amazon has several type, butyl and foam. Width?
The double-sided adhesive foam tape was included in the purchase of the replacement window. It was like 3/8 or 1/2 inch wide, about 1/8 inch thick.
I just received my windows for the same RV. Gonna install them on wed. I'm wondering about the screws, the inside ring came pre drilled but the main piece doesn't have holes drilled, do the screws screw into the channel that goes around the frame of the main glass piece?
yes, the screws for the trim ring grab into that channel. Good luck with the project!
@@Buckwsr have you ever had an intermittent problem with the stairs? Mine became unreliable so I just disconnected them.
@@stevegraham4512 Fortunately, my entry step has been working just fine. I mostly just keep to step down when the RV is parked, and then when you fire up the engine, the step defaults to the up position if the RV door is closed.
Do they do this same window replacement for a 96 Holiday rambler and if you could give me the link to the site
A quick google search and you'll find their website...located in Washington State, if I remember correctly. Check out my other video on how to measure your window so that you order the correct size. And yes, of course, a window can be made to fit your 1996 motorhome.
How long did it take to receive the new window after the order was made?
I can't quite remember. I feel like it was several weeks....
Did you use shims on the bottom when installing them?
I don't recall any need to shim it....
@@Buckwsr I replaced both windows, really easier than I thought it was gonna be. Only thing is the inside ring didn't fit perfect. I had to separate them at the break and overlap about an inch.
@@stevegraham4512 kinda strange about the trim ring....I don't recall mine being too big. Perhaps there is some wiggle room there. Maybe you could shorten it as opposed to overlapping it....? Glad you got it done, though!
