the audio plays on headphones and via my phone speaker fine. i am sorry some of you are having issues with it. i am not re-uploading the video.
sounds fine to me as well
so real
Headphones solve the problem
Confirmed... Interesting issue though 🤣✨
If I switch to mono playback on my PC it totally breaks the audio. Otherwise, it just sounds a bit strange.
Just check it on any mini device, Bro
I fell in love with this thing a while ago but immediatly clicked to hear your take on it! It's just such a cool piece of kit!
I love the way these videos make me dance like a silly interpretative goose when you play around with a new piece of kit...
Proper techno and real electro machine, lovely!
Solid demo as always, great selection of questions, love the AI clip art, realizing you are a big big big Toro y Moi fan after watching older videos + this one back to back. On a separate note, I need a keyboard rack like that. Edit: also the sound is fine, and I am glad you are testing for ______.
This thing intimidates me but I love everything about it. Enjoy it while you still have it!
They knocked it out of the park with this one
hell yeah ! I just got one , and mc loving it
The Perkons definitely feels like one of those machines that it’s designed explicitly for the type of person who’s gonna buy one of these. Not everyone is meant to be the target market for this machine and that’s okay. But for the people who it is meant for…they are gonna love it. Also, it sounds brilliant.
I messed with this when i was at perfect circuit in LA!!! Super cool synth!
This thing kicks hard
Love that Toro y Moi hoody!
Perkons sounds so damn phaaaat. Hard not to want this one :)
Answering the best questions that could ever be possibly asked about a drum machine
unfortunately i cannot watch the video, because the demo sound is outta phase. :/
I wonder if its more of a speakers vs headphones thing, or I just have a high tolerance for it but listening on larger headphones at the moment and I don't find it off? Unless J fixed it :)
EDIT: I'm just at the walkthrough sections though, not the demos later on.
it is fine in both headphones and on phone speakers.
@@RedMeansRecording Sound is fine with headphones on mobile but not mobile speaker aka phone.. Anywho thanks j
Can't listen sounds on cellphone speaker
Aphex Twin wants his new drum machine back man.
wow you were able to make it sound way more versitile than alot of the other videos on it
ooofff so good.
Hmm the sound is out of phase?
yup
it is :(
Yes it is. Noticed right away. AAAAND it completely disappears if you‘re listening in mono. I suppose a re-up will be happening, otherwise all those people listening on their phone speakers will complain about the Perkons being really quiet 😂
@@vinylarchaeologistsounds great on my phone speaker
It is for me as well.
Come for the demo, stay for the social engineering how-to.
I confess - I got one of the first available at patchwerks. I will probably never use it to make a track, but it is so much damned fun. The immediacy and performability is what you are buying, and nothing else really compares there.
Use the delay as a looper!
My heart exploded with joy, German kittens, and rainbows when you mentioned the Notwist. One question… as an elektron digitakt / syntakt guy, did you find that this sat in too similar a zipcode to consider?
i get strong "this would have been used in early hiphop" vibes. even tho its a piece of techno kit, I think you could get this into different genres. its just a nice drum machine. edit: ah damn you mentioned hiphop in QNA, yeah i heard a bunch of useable kicks for hh and that smacky snare was basically straight out of the hh rulebook.
Are limited to 4 tracks only I normally use 6 sounds on a pattern
haha drum machine go brrrrrr
Machine def sounds dope/performance oriented. The effects don't hurt, either. ;-) But it seriously looks FUN.
"Hainbach test equipment vibe."
Off-topic, but I'm curious: I see a Zoom livetrak back there. How do you like it? Would you recommend?
Yes I would
I could strongly consider going without food for a while in exchange for something that makes these sounds. Great piece of gear.
From a tonal perspective, I prefer it to the Rytm. The Rytm may have more capabilities, especially when you factor in sampling, but I like the simplicity of the Perkons. Some of the drum voices on the Rytm are just straight up not good sounding, but I dig all the algorithms on this thing. Highly considering switching my AR MKII out for it.
I hear you. Did you pull the trigger in the end ? Thinking the same thing.
Kathunky thunky touching my buttery knobs. What did this turn into?
And yeah, that's what I was thinking while you were playing; I thought it was radioheadesque, as you mention in the denouement.
I wish I could have bought one of these instead of the dsi tempest
can i get a link to your music ?
Check the links in my video description
Interesting that you didnt cover the odds function! For me that was one of the most attractive features BUT it isnt super useful in its current implementation since the 1/x odds activates the trigger on the first pass. The manual says "with odds 1/2 the relevant step will be played EVERY SECOND TIME the sequencer is activating the step" which is not actually how it works. Erica synths says its the manual that is wrong lol anyway I am really disappointed by this and hope they change it to how it should be.
One fun thing is you can do a control all type of thing by holding shift and turning a parameter knob, and if you let go of shift it reverts back to what it was before. I just found out if you want to keep the changes press rec before releasing shift!
It's a good feature for sure
Taco time? OKIDOKI
Tried and Love this... Can't afford this... Sad... Hate this
Bob Eats/Jer Tastes collab, please.
Nice to see a fun demo within a check your gas video. It’s great, but we don’t neeeed it. Thanks Jeremy.
Demos 1 totally Disappeared on JBL charge 4 mono speaker 😢😢😢
Still waiting for the new Eddie Izzard and the Lizard Wizard album
Great demo, sounds horrible on a bluetooth speaker,
Great through the phone or headphones
You and your partner starting a security consulting business? Red means pen testing? Any plans for a crossover with darknet diaries?
ha ha nice shirt
Buttery Knobs is my stripper name. My dad used to say, “Ass, grass or Chilean sea bass. Nobody gets knob butter for free.”

You said Bubble Bath... Been watching a certain TV show about teenagers and their internal monsters on Netflix?
I’ve been having issues with audio sounding like absolute garbage through my iPhone. This video suffers pretty badly from the same phenomenon. On anything else, it’s fine. Strange indeed.
It's a phase issue.
Fortunately I do not want one of these and have no intention of buying one. Erica Synths’ Syntrx II on the other hand…
We really only hear your voice
Nothing good is related to the phrase "Love and Thunder" ☹️
Meh.. rather have a dfam
Whereas I find my DFAM hugely frustrating and would like to be able to just program the darn thing via XOX. Different strokes …
@@jonlea4624 There is a little 2u addon you can get for the DFAM which gives you midi control etc
@@devondetroit2529 That’s very interesting - I shall investigate.
This doesn't sound good at all maybe its for experimental EDM or something
Mr Carmack approved beats @ 4:30. hell ya
This thing is crap
