- The 600 HP Snow Tandem double acting compressor engine running at the Coolspring Engine Show on June 20, 2014. Many thanks to Chris Austin and the CPM for preserving and restoring this beautiful piece of engineering!
Very Nice Video!! Kudos to Chris and his crew for undertaking the monumental task of setting up the necessary foundation needed, reassembling the the huge pile of parts into one COMPLETE, FUNCTIONING LUMP, and lastly & MOST IMPORTANT~ making this fine piece of internal combustion engineering run in ALL IT'S GLORY once more!!! My hat is off to all of you, especially Chris, and you have my utmost respect!!
Not sure how I came here, but this is amazing! I will stay here^^
I hear the report of the Blaisdell right at the start of the video! :)
WOW ! JUST SUBSCRIBED !
What I like best about these engines is that they're actually run on fuel... not static display, or air pressure, like most steam engines are. You get to see them running somewhat at their design RPM. I love steam, but you lose the authenticity when you run them on air at 10% of their working speed. I do understand that boilers are a big PITA!
awesome.
Did you plan on having an open house this year in Youngstown, OHIO?
