    I can safely say this is the easiest to understand rules breakdown on the internet. I've had my first solo 2 player learning run through and this has just polished off my understanding and the gaps within. Modern Cardboard also sorted me out on GH so massive thumbs up.

    One of my favorites: bought it a year ago, played 40 times in solo over one month. I have almost all expansions and the folded space insert and painted everything. Amazing game at ALL player count. Much less complicated as expected as you said. Great video as always, I was waiting for this one to put it back to the table, this refresh session is much appreciated! Thank you

      I wonder if you could share them over at the Patreon page? or moderncardboardproductions@gmail.com. I really admire painted minis, but struggle doing it myself. I have a friend I usually work with to commission painting mine ;)

      Hi Marcus, Right now I'm working on the Automa video for Scythe, after that, Spirit Island and an upcoming kickstarter release. I love your suggestions! Gaia Project / Terra Mystica, and T'Zolkin are a few I've had in mind. You may see a poll coming up with some of these suggestions and more on CZcams where I list a few and have viewers vote. Thanks so much!

  • @WelcomeToTheGooniverse

    Hey! Great video! I love the format and flow. I just wanted to point out one little piece of information you got wrong. Not trying to be nit-picky, but I am looking for a video to recommend to my new players and I just caught this as I was listening through.
    @33:20 You say that the winner of any combat loses one popularity for any worker(s) they force to retreat. That is only the case if the winner was the *attacker*. Otherwise someone could just move a mech with all 8 workers into combat and purposefully lose and make the defender lose 8 popularity. Granted, the defender could get a combat star and they could also take the loss since attackers win ties, but that would definitely be a weird mechanic to worry about.
    Overall, this is really well done, though! And only messing up one rule on a game this massive and complicated is impressive. I should also say that there were some pieces in here you mentioned that I didn't know about and have been playing wrong! So again, a job well done! 😊

    32:15 This part is confusing me a bit. How do you reveal to your opponent how many cards you have, but not how many you play. Aren't those the same thing?
    Also does the game suggest any way to hide whether you played a card or not? I feel like just setting the dial and not putting any card gives a lot of information to my opponent about my potential strength. So preferably I would like to keep them guessing if I added any cards or not. I'm not sure how the game designer intended this mechanic to be handled.

    • @unlimitedrabbit
      @unlimitedrabbit Před rokem +1

      You and your opponent take all of your combat cards along with your respective combat dials and sort them out below the table out of view of your opponent. On the count of three, reveal them simultaneously.

  • @meshuggner

    When you use a worker for Pay, where do you put it? This is still very confusing.

    • @meshuggner
      @meshuggner Před 21 dnem

      Also, when you deploy a mech where does it go?

    • @meshuggner
      @meshuggner Před 21 dnem

      Also, if there's no worker on a village hex can you still use produce to put out another worker?

    Why should you avoid combining Rusviet with Industrial ? And Crimea with Patriotic ?

    • @Henry-lk5pm
      @Henry-lk5pm Před měsícem +1

      It is in the rule book. Basically, I think, those combinations unbalance the game by combining faction (mech) abilities with the move actions that have the mine building. Move is the most used top action and combined with the mine’s movement ability and bonus move abilities of crimea and rusviet mechs it creates an unfair advantage.
