â@@ree6042 totally i can't even chose one cuz all have different meanings but they all are more important than the other and the fact that it's the members themselves who writes the lyrics makes it more deep and meaningful cuz they actually put some elements of their experiences, past, emotions and many other things that's why it's important to write the lyrics themselves cuz it's makes us ARMYs feel more connected to the boys and we can actually feel and receive their message through the music even if we don't speak their language cuz music it self is a language and to communicate with the fans nothing is better than writing your own lyrics đđ

BTS is a completely different sort of a group. Their music is way more conceptual & in depth. And the topics touched are mature, sometimes maybe dark. And they excel at lyricism in which the members participate themselves.
Also they are great live performers. The stages are always interesting & unique.
They do have fun upbeat simple songs as well, like the newer English singles. U can check them if you like more upbeat songs, those were more commercially inclined.
But their music in Korean will always be their brand, which sets them apart.
Blood Sweat Tears' MV alone is so complicated, it has like 100s of references with Fall of angels, Icarus' fall, Demain by Herman Hesse.
If someone likes heavy theorizing & working their brain up, for them it's very interesting.
Not many people will understand BTS.We ARMY's just know the real BTS and their magic

BTS is a multi-genre group and tops Kpop today. If you want the mv to explode, watch "fire", "mic drop" ......... or gentle, deep like "Spring day" ..... deep art "black swan", "on" " . ....... there are so many songs that I can't remember them all. Also, they are a group that can compose and produce hundreds of songs on their own and of course in the 3 songs that you react to, their songs are old and don't have the same emotional flow as the other 2 so it's very likely that they will be lost out of tune translation hexagram dimmer

Stray Kids was my first K-pop. They are fantastic. I am a total Stay. God's Menu is all about how they have something for every taste - and I found that to be true for me. Just as a way to see some different sides: The Tortoise and the Hare; Side Effects (love this), Lonely St., Hellevator (for a taste of early SKZ) - then Miroh, Maze of Memories, Muddy Water, Back Door, Venom, Freeze, Thunderous, Scars, Slump (one of my all time favs for repeat loop), Red Lights -- actually just everything ... I really haven't found anything I don't like - just some I love a little more. Happy listening and reacting.

I discovered BTS in 2017 and they made me realise Kpop isn't a genre and any type of music can be great as long as it is done well. BTS is the most versatile group/artists in our generation. However for me it is all the song itself and how is sounds from beginning to end (+sometimes plus lyrics). As for BTS I am ARMY (fandom name). BTS do write, compose, and produce their own music along side their in house producersâŠ
They write about important topics that are not common in kpop (or have more accumulated songs talking about stuff, from what I have seen), for instance: social issues, dreams, failure, bullying, mental health, regret, self love, etc. 80-90% of their music if it sounds like a love song between gf/bf it isnât. Usually they are about self love, each other (they are family to one another ), or to their fans called ARMY.
BTS have a wide range of genres they do from EDM, rap, pop, a Little Rock, mix genres, etc. honestly their are very few genre they havenât tried.
BTS are some of the most kind, hardworking, talented, chaotic, and humble.
They go through tons of hatred, racism, xenophobia, etc. every day and all they do is spread positivityâŠfor this ARMY are very protective of BTS. As long as you honest, respectful, and try not to compare with other groups we are not as bad as people like to make us seem.
Also keep in mind:
-the fandom is huge so sometimes other ARMY are not so fluent in English so when they try and communicate is comes out sometimes mean ish but they donât intend to.
-Some people will pretend to by ARMY and send negativity and toxicity and taint the fandom and BTS
-The fandom is huge and unfortunate their are toxic fans (like EVERY fandom) and unfortunately the loudest
Also sometime their MV and songs can be confusing if you donât know the the story they are telling or donât know the history. BTS music/albums usually come in trilogies that tell a story from one album to the third album. Sometimes you canât get the full story though just one song or albumâŠAlso BTS music have grown with them (especially since they are the main writers). So they had 3 albums about school live, 3 about growing up/temptations, 3 about self love, and 2 About Carl Young Theoy/ Map of the SoulâŠ.

Then you said "80-90% of their music sounds like a love song between gf/bf" which... makes me think you really haven't listened to much of their music (!!!) And then you said "some of the members had to learn rapping/dancing/singing after joining the group" which first of all isn't accurate (they learned as trainees before debut, and all members had independently trained in some aspect of performance even before joining the agency) and secondly you say that like it's not true of other kpop artist when in fact it's the standard. It's more unusual that some BTS members were already established musicians/songwriters/producers before debut... I think you're trying to help but this comment is very confusing for newcomers!

1) you said that I am wrong about 80-90% of BTS music not being about a gf/bf. I will disagree with you while I do understand we all can interpret music differently. If you know the whole story of the songs (including the story of the albums trilogies) then no I am not really wrong, in my opinion.
2. You also said I am wrong when I said a lot of them members had to learn to dance, sing, and/or rap at their beginning of their careers. Yes what I said it true because at the beginning of their careers isnât when they debut it was when they were training (some before they even joined BTS). Yes some members had to learn how to do different areas that they didnât know before they joined Bighit. Also everyday we learn about stuff and how to do better even with stuff that are our strengths. So yes BTS still too this day are learning. Only RM and Yoongi had experience producing and writing lyrics when they joined BTS. All the members themselves have learned over the years too.

Across their discography I think maybe 20-30% could even sound like a song about romantic love, and even those songs have many other interpretations. Not that there's anything wrong with writing about romance, and a few of their songs actually are about romantic relationships, I just think it's going to give a confusing impression to new fans if you say "the vast majority of BTS music seems to be about romance" when in reality their music is so diverse. Anyway, I hope my comment didn't seem harsh, I'm just trying to help make things clear for any outsiders reading about BTS for the first time ^^;

BTS is 7-membered group from South Korea with members aging from 24 to 29 years old. They have been around for almost 9 years now (anniversary on June 13) and they usually sing in Korean/Konglish and only have 3 songs fully in English in their whole discography of 200+ songs. They are one, if not, the most versatile artists Iâve ever heard (in my opinion). From hiphop to rnb to pop, name any genre, most likely, they have it. Comment me your type and I might recommend some songs. They produce and write their own songs, incorporate a storyline in their discography as well as different themes such as philosophy, psychology, politics, women empowerment, anti-bullying, mental health, and many more. This is why they had such an impact to the world and brought them to the UN 3 times and gave speeches as well. I canât reiterate any more coz this might be an essay hehe. They mean a lot to me, coz they changed my life (mental health-wise).

If blood sweat and tears came out two years ago. It would have been on the Map of the Soul 7 album that was released on February 21st, 2020, but it actually came out during the wings albums era which was over five years ago.

Edit: nailed the confusion đ. No but I get where he's coming from. Blood Sweat and Tears is too deep a song to start off with, like the song is good and you just wanna jam, but the MV is so dark and somber it causes confusion unless you know what's happening đ. I usually introduce ppl to BTS with Mic Drop, Fire, or DNA.
Venom mv and maniac mv and Thunderous mv stray kids plz. Loved the reactions đ all of these groups are amazing BTS are very popular and I love this song but for a first time k-pop listener I would have e picked a different BTS song. đ mic drop, or Dangerous something similar to the other 2 songs. As far as comparison I would never do that. Fans get upset. BTS is the most popular of the 3 debut in 2015, then Black Pink debut 2016, then Stray Kids debut 2018. I'm not sure about Blackpink but I do know BTS does write alot of there own songs and also Stray Kids writes, compose, arrange and produces 99.9%of there songs. They were the first group in the kpop industry that the leader hand picked their own members. No company has ever done that before or since. They have more control and imput on what they create and produce.
