But have they done enough for this to secure a place at the number one best budget/affordable RC spot?
It may just be a little too expensive for some but for the money i do think you are getting a lot of RC car!

Bought a couple of tickets to support the channel. I don’t really understand the hate. It all goes back into the channel, so what’s the issue? If people knew just how many RC cars this guy has given, yes given, away you’d maybe think twice. The RC community is a great one. Let’s keep it that way.

This may cause myself abit backlash but in all honesty Ricky is a top bloke, he’s given away completely free of charge and out of the goodness of his heart several RC cars that I know of. He puts a lot of time and effort into his vids and it’s not cheap, fuel to get to locations, camera equipment which does need updating now and then, editing suites that have to be paid for and subscribed too the list goes on. Yeah he get cars given to him to test that’s because he does a dam good review and companies trust him. He clearly states in the vid that what ever money gets made will go back into the channel so I really don’t see any harm in him trying it out to see if it works for him.

Good look at it mate, i have really enjoyed this truck so far! I like how they have designed this truck from scratch and found the quality pretty decent and can take a beating when bashing it! I also made mention of how the oil shocks are perfectly tuned on this RC. The included speed pinion wakes it up quite a bit as well. 👍🍻

My first and hopefully last Rlaarlo rant, apologies for length: Rlaarlo have always made good looking vehicles, and they’ve always included slightly better materials & build quality than the cheaper competition. They exist in a space between the cheap $75-$175 off brand small scale rc’s and the bigger scale name brands.
But rather than just owning that space, they hype the crap out of their products through influencers and then use their pre-sale tactic to make people feel they’ve got to buy it now. Sorry but the pre-sale price should just be the price. $200-250 for this 1/12th is about all its worth. Are people going to buy a 1/12 truck with cheapish non-programmable esc’s for $270-330? I doubt in the numbers they’d need to be viable.
They are certainly in a place where the prices are comparable to the big brands where parts are readily available at most hobby stores. I asked this question before. When does a cheap RC car become too expensive? After pre sale it’s certainly quite a lot of money especially this version
@@beyondRC Agreed. Their AK917 was similar with the metal brushless version $200 pre sale / $400 afterward, which was preposterously too high for that thing.

Welcome to the addiction😜 They start to multiply over time. It's a good size to have and a quality truck. It's still small enough to squeeze in a back pack. Break a 1/5 scale and you have to drag it back to the car. Not alot of fun.😂

@@kevincain6843 I haven’t done much research but typically metal is almost always stronger than CF for hard bashing but the CF version has better electronics. I’m thinking if I get one I should probably go with the roller considering I definitely have at least a minimum of 2 to 3s motors and ESC laying around.
really Nice looking truck, with the Maverick Q2 you recently covered it looks likely there is some hot competition for the established usual suspects. This reminded me a bit of the HBX 2296a,, not because they are similar is design or anything,, its the size and durability. The HBX is a safe basher my son uses, it is the only RC I have never had to buy repair parts for and I run it with 2 batteries in parallel to compensate for small battery tray so all good. I think the Rlaarlo looks like another 1/12 truck that will survive a bomb attack,, looks good too.
Lmao. I just realized it's a pre sale and won't be delivered for at least a month. I was expecting it this week. Really glad i also ordered the brushed MT10 and a 10BL HW combo while they were on sale over the weekend. They'll be here in a day or two.

i wish they've made it a true 1:10 scale! there are already several 1:12 scale trucks in the cheaper market like the HBX 2997A and this doesn't really stand out by that much compared to that. There is also Rlaarlo's own D12. But there is not a good solid 1:10 scale truck in the cheap Chinese market and this would have been the one!

I get that point. Only thing i would say is the 1/12 seem to be super durable. I have a Big Rock 3s, had to replace turnbuckles on it, also i keep tightening the wheels,, zorro brushless is a big 1/10 and had to replace broken cassis, front cvd's, and bumper, maverick 1/10 pretty much fell apart.. appreciate they are not high end but my Sons Hbx 2996a has had no replacement parts despite the horrible punishment he puts it through.. this looks like a higher performing and super durable upgrade to that,, just another point of view for you.
@@gazzap6664 excellent points made there. It’s like my son’s HBX 16889 almost 3 years old and not replaced a thing. The smaller and lighter cars just don’t seem to break as often as the larger stuff. 👌
@@gazzap6664 the smaller it is, the easier it is to make it durable (or less prone to damage) because it's lighter. That's why there is no good 1/10 ones from HBX and others (of course they know that people are looking for larger cars). I agree it seems like 1/12 is like some kind of a limit.
Great looking truck. Thanks for showing it against other trucks for size comparison. Good speed and it handled the rough terrain for being so small. Definitely a good buy.

just had my first 2 packs with this 1/11.3th scale truck and what a beast ! Handling is superb, supension is superb and power delivery is yes you guessed it - superb. next is the speed pinion and a 100C battery...

I almost pulled the trigger on the carbon fiber option but for the price i feel like an arrma 3s would be the better option. For around the same money you get a bigger vehicle with loads of aftermarket support.
this is how a lot of people feel. 2nd hand arrmas of the 3s blx range can be had on the second hand market for the same price as the terminator. I think once it goes up to the full price it will be priced out of the market and no longer a viable option. Shame but price needs to stay low or rlaarlo need to get distribution in more countries with much easier access to parts/spares which I highly doubt as cheaper Chinese companies are still not regarded as 'The best' for the hobby.

Great video fella. Gotta tell you, I made a dual 2000w motor ebike, 60v battery etc. To try out it's power I towed a transit van, no problem. Don't laugh but this guy asked me if it would pull a non motor cargo canal barge. So I tried and it did, effing epic. He can't use horses down the tow path, and motor towing boats aren't always available and are expensive. I towed his barge 4 miles. Ebikes are the new barge horse.😂

To be honest, I actually appreciate this size, so that I can bring it anywhere I go. If you notice, all the China brand RC car are a size or two smaller compared to domestic RC brand. It is true, if you look at all the Amazon reviews of the Chinese brand RC car, most people; Always say that it is a scale or two scale off. I am convinced that the scale size., such as shoe sizes, are different in Asia country. If Rlaarlo want to go after US / UK market. They need to reconsider renaming their scale to 1/12 scale truck instead. That way people won't feel cheated, Your thoughts?

Stock gears yes. Depends if running off road I would say stay stock

Great truck. Think they smashed it. Im a big fan of smaller scale (lc racing mostly) and this is big scale rc tech at small scale. Easy to transport and store and parts tend to be a bit cheaper too. Also like the fact that when the kids play with smaller scale stuff they are not piloting 3kg at 30mph into your legs! 😂. Also baught tickets. Like that its capped so you have a resonable chance of winning

Do you have a scale at hand and could tell us the weight of the truck? I prefer weight as an indicator of actual size. I guess it's 4 to 4.5 pounds.

@@VictoriaJones-gy8es I saw a video of the carbon with speed pinion and a 50c rated 3s. It certainly woke it up. I believe the carbon has a higher kv motor than the aluminum.
@@beyondRC actually , for the carbon version it's 24t and 27t and for the aluminum it's 16 and 19. So the difference between both is not that much in each case.
Can you confirm that this does actually have a giro, Rlarrlo list this radio as having a giro. I have seen a few claim this radio that comes with the carbon version does not have a giro.
Yes, would be helpful. It was a last-minute change in the description that it would come with one, but I have seen it nowhere confirmed.

@rlaarlo sent out a video showing how to activate it. I completely forgot about the gyro once i got into the testing stages of this video but judging by the video it looks like it does in fact have a gyro!

Regardless of the price, how do you think this compares to the SG 1201pro? They are the same size, speed, weight... Right? Both of them look quite durable.
I love how I’ve been watching you since I guess 2019/20 and you’ve started more of your videos with, “This could be the best RC of 2020, 2023, 2024…” than any other way😂 Honestly though, as much as I love this hobby I don’t have the time I used to have and I was deciding to just go with the rolling chassis version but I’m a little bummed out it doesn’t have a painted body! I love it in solid black and of course I can paint it myself and put the stickers on and I have at least 3 to 5 extra sets of electronics, but why should I consider going with the CF version with electronics? What are the upgrades? And keep in mind I bash pretty hard and other than basher queens carbon fiber most carbon fiber can’t hold up as well as metal.
hahahaha love that! You have been subbed for years!! If you have electronics just get the roller. The only difference between carbon and the normal rtr are the bigger motor/esc, carbon fiber center brace and some carbon reinforcement on the arms. The roller will be fine or the normal RTR!
Sadly you haven't tested it with the speed pinion aswell with a better 3s Battery. See huge difference for other test of the Metal version with smaller motor and sofar saw no test with the carbon upgrade version. Do it reach 50 ?
Because I usually like to give people my honest opinion with products as they are out the box without changing things around. Seen no tests? My good friend @matthewsimm tested the carbon edition on his channel with the speed pinion czcams.com/video/T-ujjGKMhtQ/video.htmlsi=lW3i02pEcFUzjtq7 got 42mph on 3s so not quite the claimed 50mph 😎👍
With the 27t speed pinion it should reach 77 km/h or 48 mph based on the overall drive ration and wheel size. I think with a better battery chances are good that you get to 45-48 mph.

I couldn’t get any backflips I think the firm tyres don’t help that much but they do grip well. I had the same issue with the Arrma big rock 6s just not a lot of ballooning to help with the flipping 😅

Yeah, balooning is needed for flipping. For the 6s Big Rock the Hobao MTX Tires could Work fine.
If this truck dosen't have a giro function as stated by Rlaarlo, then I will be most upset. Will be the last rlarrlo that I ever buy ( this will be my 4th Rlaarlo that I have purchased ) as im waiting on delivery of a carbon Omni Terminator that I ordered. One of the reasons I went with the carbon rtr version was to have the radio with the giro, guess I have to wait & see when this thing is delivered to me. Lets hope Rlaarlo dosn't have another cock up on there hands like they did with the debacle there was on release of the AK917 ! As I bought 2 of them when they were released.
I completely forgot about the gyro when i was testing this but rlaarlo did send out a video to everyone who got a sample telling them how to activate the gyro. Looking at the video it is certainly the same transmitter and receiver that's included with this so pretty sure it does come with the gyro adjustable on the ch5 knob and amount of stabilisation on ch6.
Mate looks like you have a worse delivery guy than I do.They obviously chucked your box around a bit. Many don't appreciate the amount of spend we need to invest just to make a single video including time, fuel, sometimes spare batteries, parts if we break it, etc...Thanks for the vid and hope the raffle covers at least your costs.

all very solid and well performing trucks. Parts will be easier to get hold of with the mt10 and quantum 2. The mt10 and maverick are also slightly larger so naturally more capable off road. Thats a very hard choice!

That’s an incredibly hard choice. Both very good. The maverick is larger and more capable as an off road vehicle but the rlaarlo is also excellent quality for its size. Ahhhh decisions decisions 😂😂

The mix hyper go 14210 is over powered and and underwhelming, sold mine after two bashes. Doesn’t even run straight
If this has the x6f receiver its basically worthless shit...ive got 3 rlaarlo vehicles w that receiver and if you get any moisture in them they are garbage youll lose control it acts wonky and it will eventually fry itself and the servo...hope rlaarlo changes this...😢
