So, overall, I love these new Oakley combat boots. They are very comfortable, lightweight and have a decent outsole. It is worth mentioning here that these Oakley tactical boots made it to a few online lists like best lightweight military boots, best combat boots for men, hot weather combat boots and a few others.
So, what do you guys think about this Oakley Light Assault 2 review? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for watching! God bless!
Tie little knots at the top of the laces. When you take them off, spread at the laces and the knots will keep them locked in. This makes them very easy to take off and put on.
We did that in bmt
Great review man. Just bought a pair today.
I just got mine. I usually wear Altama Maritime Assault to work but decided to give the Oakleys a try. They're certainly minimalistic. There is not much to them like the jungle boots we wore in the early 90s. Time will tell if they hold up.
So they don’t make these in a wide any suggestions on getting these? Do I go up a size or two or? Am I just screwed?
I have the Oakley Field Assaults which I got for $100. Very comfortable, but they're nothing more than hi top sneakers with a beefy sole. And it's because of that and my own experience in the military that I don't personally view them to be anywhere close to combat boots.
I need to buy some regulation boots which brand in your opinion should I go for?

Yeah, I could imagine that they probably don't last as long as a nice built up combat boot, but saying they're basically speakers makes them sound super comfortable😂
@@clayleslie8895 They are VERY comfortable. I didn't want to make my comment sound like I don't like them, I very much do.
@@Totemparadox I'm currently rocking some pretty beat up Nike SFB gen 2s and they're decent, but I want something much more flexible that I could run in. Are the Oakleys good boots to run in as well?
Do you think they are suitable for wide feet?thanks in advance
Thank you😺
As always very welcome! Thanks for watching!
What’s the difference between the Coyote boot and these? 😮 I just got the Coyote I didn’t know there was a difference
Shoes Need to have more than just Regular AA Width for Narrow Foot. I'm a Medium-Wide B and they are killing my foot. After one day of wearing them, I have Huge Buldging Corn on the side of Big Toes amd toes feeling pinched in... Any Suggestions other than buying a bigger Shoe....?
Do they run true to size?
Do they slip in the rain?
I am looking for winter hiking footwear. I wear Vibram Five Fingers or various barefoot shoes for three seasons (Spring Summer, Fall) for hiking and every day wear. I like that type of shoe because it allows the muscles of the feet, ankles and legs to function and strengthen as nature designed them to do and does not transfer stress to knees, hips, back, etc.
Footwear with a lot of padding, arch support, etc., weakens the feet and legs. I just want a flat bottomed, light weight boot with ankle support and no padding or fancy foot support for winter hiking. I have several pairs of good surplus knee high Swedish gaiters that I can wear to help keep my legs dry and wear two layers of socks, silk liner and wool socks, to keep warm.
Do you know of a boot that might work? The boots in this review might do, except for wet snow.... Guessing that these boots could be waterproofed with something like SNO-Seal which might do... Thanks!
BTW, I am ex-Army, Vietnam vet, so understand your point about feet getting wet in boots not a really big deal... Of course, not a good thing in Winter....
Try the jim green African Ranger barefoot boot.

Looking at buying the black ones for festivals… how are they with dancing…?? (;
I'd expect them to be great considering how light and comfortable they are.
Does anyone know If these squeak on polished floors?
They do
Walk on concrete for 5 minutes and they won’t
FRESH out the box they squeaked for like 3 minutes and after using them not at all.
Basically, these are best used for light duty. Mostly, just office work. If youre working outside and doing real work, these arent for you.
Great for law enforcement. I wouldn't say office work.
Are the lace rings metal or plastic? I’m hoping plastic.
weight per boot?
.8 pounds or 14 oz regular boots are about 1.6 pounds
@USG First time critiquing holes?? There is no sense in having a open "thru-hole" now is there? If you go somewhere there is water there is more than likely going to be uhhh mud right? There is a pass thru membrane or closed mesh to keep particulates out from getting inside your piggy keepers. Sorry but you acted sooo flabbergasted regarding the holes that you deserved this "over splaneation". Good review though!!
Your comment is flabbergasted. Also, you have no idea what you are talking about.
@@UltimateSurvivalGear then ask ANY boot maker what those "holes" are for...I await your thoughts....and apology
