I have a leveling kit on the front end of my 2016 Tacoma. I was going to add a leaf in the rear Will this make the rear end higher than the front? Or bring it up to level?
Depends how high ur front block is this may just level it
Yooo good seeing another video out Jesse! There’s options with the add a leafs if you went with icon they have a 3 leaf pack and remove the last overload leaf and actually gives you a plush ride vs one add a leaf to existing still have that recoil feel after bumps but definitely good for height clearance and light weight 🤙

Looks awesome amigo 👍🏽 I have the same exact setup on my 2nd gen except my shocks are the bilstein TRD pro editions some ppl say that the AAL's give u more of a bouncy ride but after I installed mine the ride was exactly no different from stock lol I'm guessing those 5160's help a lot with the dampening & with the single AAL's they're great if u want to attain the most of the payload & towing capacities of your truck instead of going with those sleazy "lift blocks" which I despise those because they're like a "fake" lift aka "poor mans lift" lol

I have a question for you. I've been told when you add short leaf vs a long leaf it rises stiffer with the shorter one. Also, it can also warp your other springs within time??🤔 Be honest how's the ride now verse how it was before the install? I'm sure you can tell the difference just like any other Taco owner knows their trucks?
As far as more stiff yes it is but keep in mind doing it this way is more of a “block lift” in a way u can say but if ur gna be adding weight to ur truck like rtt and more to the bed then I would highly recommend getting a full leaf pack
Overall I like it for the price but as far as warp I havnt heard of that to be honest
What are the tire sizes/model for both trucks-skimmed through all the comments but didn’t see this question asked-if the tire sizes are different, say a 285/70r17 v 285/75r17 then that would also account for a different wheel well measurement, right? Even different brands of tire, or new vs old would cause a height difference, although slight, still a difference. Long-winded, haha sorry just curious. Great instructional video-gonna use when I install my AAL, Thanks keep it up!
Both tires are extact same brand both trucks both run 285/70/17 both trucks have exact suspension :) so it’s basically all the same besides the aal n thanks for watching :)

Where notch did you use on the front with your 5100? Also are yall using stock coils in the front?
Why did you use 5100s on the front and 5160 on the back. What's the advantages to this set up vs. 5100 all the way around?
Ok....I'm doing bilstein shocks 5100's all the way around....now...I'm leaving the strut on the bottom ring(stock) and getting toytec 2.5" silvers coils ...then I want to do the deaver 2 1/2" rear add a leaf ....my truck will always be a pavement princess....so I should be ok right?? I was told even the rear shocks have more travel??... thank you in advance....
Those soft tops are growing on me. Not a fan of toppers, but the soft one looks cool as fuck. Only thing is, how easy is it to clean? I can imagine salt stains from the road would be a bitch to clean off.
There so versatile man honestly that’s the reason I fell for them lol!! Then u can fold them and easy you only need 1 person to remove it if u ever wanted to take it off 4 bolts, and they sell special cleaners and spray to take care of them for like 40-50 bucks which is well worth it if u ask me lol

So far it’s holding up good, I’ve towed with the truck czcams.com/video/-LADIcMChl8/video.html I’ve also es filled up my bed with dirt and grass lol and so far it’s holding up seems to even still keep it leveled with a small sag when I did that but so far so good

Do you know if the stock center pins are long enough to accomodate the extra leaf? It kind of looked like you guys installed a new pin. Also the leaf kit I purchased from rough country didn't come with new ones
We used new center pins,
Rough country did throw some in for me but even those were kinda flimsey I would recommend getting some there not that expensive

I had this done in addition to a 1.5" block for a total 3.5" in the back.(plus Bilstein 5100.s) But...the damn springs squeak like a squirrel in heat and it's annoying as heck. Any ideas what went wrong here. I feel as though I need to start over and just replace the entire springs...huge waste of money for the anticipated result
I’ve had mine for 3-4 weeks on now this is a pre recorded video lol but so far luckily I havnt had that issue I’ve heard that happen but with leaf packs but we’ll see,

Hey man. I’ve been watching your videos and have been loving the soft shell lol still debating what to get. My main problem is that I have a 12ft kayak. I’m planning to have a roof rack and tie it down on that. And just rest it on the soft shell, is it sturdy enough to hold around less than 50 lb?

Do you have the 5100s and 5160s both at max height? I’m putting mine in soon and want an idea how it’ll look with them both set all the way.
5100 are at full height 5160 if I’m not mistaken are stock height since the 5160 are not adjustable so when I added the leaf that’s what helped it level out

Hey Jesse, so your aal is deaver or toytec? I've called deaver and was told they only sell packs not the leaf itself like your install. And also wanted to know did you use the stock U bolts?
Technically it’s toytec but the brand on the part is deaver and sorry for the late reply and I didn’t I replaced them

Jesse Rizo thanks man. I installed the Eibach Pro truck lift kit. Rear shocks are up to 0-1 inches so maybe an add a leaf will level it out.

U can do something similar as my setup it’s budget friendly but it’s a good setup overall
hey jess why’d you go 5160 in rear over 5100s? i have an add a leaf in rear and need more travel compared to stock shocks
5160 has a little more travel and there much smoother in my opinion and they have the remote reservoir
are the rear shocks 5160 stock length?
Yes sir if I’m not mistaken, only plus with these is they have longer travel over ur stock shocks and of course they come with a remote reservoir but that’s why I added the leaf to just level out the truck
Where is your friend's shop located? to take my truck for a minor lift 2/1" ready lift leveling kit. I can see that this guy knows what he's doing.

What's the ride like now compared to before?
I can a little better over my hood lol not saying it was riding like a low rider but that part is nicer and it rides about the same I still havnt tested it to much but from what I have it’s a nice ride

Did you use all stock hardware for this install?
Mainly everything yes I would recommend getting new bolts so they can be a bit longer then just cut off the excess
