People started watching basketball again because Lebron was something special. Even when you watch those highlights it brings you back to some great memories of your life. He is a legend. When he retires from the league, my childhood will truly be over. Every person I grew up watching in every sport has come and gone except for Lebron. My favorite athletes have all retired except Lebron. Its been a joy to watch him grow as a young kid in the league with all the hype behind him to now being the GOAT, imo, of the game. From Jordan, to Magic, to Kobe etc. All these players contributed to the game of basketball one way or another and LeBron is just one of them. For him to be able to get drafted number one pick overall to winning 4 championships, 4 MVPS and Finals MVPS, becoming the All-Time leading scorer in the NBA and completing the best comeback in NBA history against the Warriors in 2016, I think his resume speaks for itself. I can go on and on but of course everyone has opinions on who the greatest player of all time is so that will always continue to be a debate. However, LeBron is considered by most people who are avid basketball fans a top 5 player in history. Even many NBA legends say he is an all time great regardless if you think he is the GOAT or not. Lebron is my first introduction to becoming a basketball fan . I was a kid watching him his first year he played in the NBA. I’ve been hooked ever since , win or lose I have never missed more than a handful of games he played in . He’s my idol and the reason I am a college athlete today .
