  • With Cadillac sedans made in different plants with three different styles of struts, ordering the CORRECT suspension conversion kit can be very tricky. Watch as celebrity mechanic Lou Santiago explains in detail how to tell WHICH type of strut and rear shock is on YOUR Cadillac.
If you researching how to fix a Cadillac built in the 1990s, we highly recommend you watch this video before ordering anything.
The reason? General Motors made several Cadillac models in the 1990s with front struts and rear shocks that bolt up differently. The factory suspension featured electronic front struts and air shocks in the rear.
In the front, one type of strut had TWO tabs towards the bottom to bolt on other suspension parts; another strut with just ONE tab at the bottom; and a third type that had NO tabs at the bottom. An easy way to tell which one is on the your vehicle is turn the steering wheels all the way to the left or right and examine the bottom of the factory strut on the vehicle.
At the rear, some of the air shocks bolted up from the bottom, with two mounting bolts; while some had a single bolt that slid through a bushing at the end of the shock. A simple visual inspection of the bottom of the factory shock should reveal which style is on your vehicle.
To be 100% correct when you order parts for 1990s Cadillac sedans, some shops even take a picture of one of the front struts and rear shocks. They share the pictures with a suspension expert at Stutmasters and we make sure they get the correct conversion kit for the vehicle they are fixing.
Strutmasters understands that getting it right is important! We know a vehicle is sitting idle if we get it wrong. So, watch this video and help us help YOU get it correct when you order. Call us at 866-597-2397 today!
