      size/maturity ratios differ from place to place, region to region. where we live in Berlin, still-immature mushrooms with soft flesh can be double this size. also seems to depend on the black-stemmed vs non black-stemmed genre. imo, best to follow the texture description set out by ukwildcrafts.

    Thanks so much for these videos. Your channel is seriously undervalued! I found one of these today and cooked it up it was delicious! Fried with butter and a little garlic it tasted very unique! Almost beefy in a way!
    Thanks again for the great videos!

      Thank you 😊. Still in my first year YouTubing and growing steadily. Yes I've been eating them everyday. Loads about around here. And yes they do have a meaty texture. Similar to oyster mushroom

    I stumbled across these on a woodland hike today. I never knew a mushroom could get so huge! They had become very sponge like, so clearly inedible.
    I wasn't sure if it was a birch polypore initially but your video really helped. Thank you. Subscribed.

      Thanks 😊. Yes once they get that big they aren't nice. There will probably be more nearby though once you've found some

    That looks so yummy. I love fried field mushrooms with spinach and spring onion.

    Beautiful dish! Hello from Canada. I’m cooking some up as we speak, along with a good feast of fish. Subbed up.

    Wow! What a stunning plate of food! I've just started up a student foraging society at the university of St Andrews and it's my dream for us to build up knowledge and skills to a point where we can create whole meals from foraged foods!

    Looks delicious!! Only found one very lonely dryad the other day so left it be. Would love to try one. Found some Chicken of the woods and oyster mushrooms around a month ago! Delicious! X

      Took me years to gain the confidence to start foraging for mushrooms. I recommend starting with the puffballs or beefsteak fungus. Nice easy ones to ID to start with

    I had no idea you could cook and eat yarrow

    • @UKWILDCRAFTS
      @UKWILDCRAFTS  Před 4 lety

      Yes I eat it a fair bit. It doesn't have a strong flavour but it's very healthy. It's quite nice finely diced then mixed into butter, for a quick yarrow butter
