Hi Mary Beth, This video is one of my favorites. I've owned 18 poodles of various sizes and know how they wiggle around and become become impatient. You were so good with this little guy. Thank you for making this world a better place.

You say it doesn't hurt them, but how do you know that...Sam seemed good most of the time, except when brushing. He also whimpered when you pulled the chin hair to make him mind....😮
I’m sorry but do you even have a dog? Because if you did you would know that puppies whine all the time!!! There are very few dogs, no less puppies who like grooming…..but it doesn’t hurt them and it’s necessary!
Holding the chin is also necessary, because if she didn’t, the dog would be squirming and she could possibly cut him so the way to keep him safe, is to hold him still. Again, it’s not hurting him.
You have to bring a puppy in early in there life so they get used to grooming. Each time they will feel more comfortable.
It’s part of having a dog. The dog is not being brushed by its owner which it should be. He’s not used to being brushed! He has to be brushed!!
It’s training and grooming is a part of that training. The owners need to be educated on all of this so the puppy gets used to being brushed and washed and everything else that goes along with the grooming.
Do not criticize or judge someone on a subject you know nothing about.

This puppy is just a brat throwing a temper tantrum! Mary Beth has much more patience than I would ever have! She’s firm, but firm. Good job, Mary Beth!
I guess the people who criticize her don't seem to realize the puppy is NOT in charge. These are the same people who, I guess, allow their children to have macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets every night for dinner and allow the kids to refuse a healthy diet, let their kids stay up too late, and eat candy instead of real food because being a disciplinarian is too much trouble. Then wonder why their kids are in ill health, are ill-mannered, and don't get invited anywhere and also wonder they as parents are not invited anywhere either because they can't get babysitters due to the kids' bad behavior, so they try to drag their dreadful offspring to adult events, restaurants, amd weddings and get asked to leave. These same people think it's ok to have pets who behave this way.

I brush and comb my puppy toy poodle every night. When i take her to the groomer, she's super easy to brush and it really helps the groomer get thru the process.
You get awfully close to his eyes with that spike brush.
From the way Sam acts I think this might be his first groom!

Of course brushing is hurtful when they haven't been brushed..! It is common sence. She does not even towel dry him. Maybe washing, CONDITIONING, then brushing would have been less stressfull.

Oh my goodness!! He looks and sounds exactly like my cavapoo puppy!! So cute! Our pup is 10 months and gets groomed every month by the same groomer since he was 8 weeks old. He’s perfectly behaved for her!
I have to say Sam needs more time at the groomer he's very touchy with his leg's but as usual Mary Beth you made him look Gorgeous ❤

Looks like the puppy is being terrorized from the bath to the brushing to the drying but she’s continuously telling the dog no bite. It’s obviously his first groom don’t you think you should have been a little more gentle with him?

This dog is not a brat. Mary Beth is not a professional dog groomer, if she was this dog wouldn't act this way.

I can't watch her videos. She doesn't handle the dogs in a way that doesn't stress them out. Clearly the puppy had never been to a groomer or had his hair brushed out! It hurts when you pull your hair so Im sure it hurts dogs. Why in the world would you brush out a dog that you are going to shave and on top of that, shave first then less product to use less hair drying time less stress on the puppy!

It seems you don't know that much about dog grooming to be honest.
First - it dosen't hurt the dog when brushing them, unless they have mats wich this dog clearly does not have.
Second - this is not a shave down and it says everywhere on the internet to always brush out a dog or cat before a bath to prevent potential mats to thighten when dries.
Third - this dog is not hurting. It clearly just is a drama queen who thinks that squeeking will get him out of a minor uncomfortable situation.
Mary beth only does the shaving before a bath if the dog is going to have a shave down due to matting.

I have never seen anything this horrible in grooming in my life. People that make excuses for her are just as bad. Yeah puppys whine, cry and whimper normally, BUT (and wake up people) the dog is doing those things in this video because there is an idiot that thinks she knows dogs pulling his tail and yanking the hair out of his ears! She says Im not hurting him. Yeah he looks real happy! He looks like he’s about to hung when video first starts. I cant watch this.. its totall unprofessional and cruel!
And the comb? WTF is that? It looks like something from Home Depot gardening department for pulling weeds!
