@@protestant77 you missed the whole point of the sabbath. Overall Jesus is our sabbath; however, we should have a sabbath day, but by no means will the Lord condemn anyone for a Saturday or a Sunday or any other day and anyone who condemns anyone for this is bringing judgment on themselves. Sabbath was made for man and the point of the day was to refocus on God so you can rest in God. If throughout the week you don’t have peace or in church you don’t have peace you are violating the sabbath because you are not resting in Christ. You missed it.
My dad was a Merchant Marine and I sat by his deathbed singing him the old hymns. He used to be a drunken sailor. As he lay there unconscious I saw a tear come out of his eye. He used to listen to Elvis Presley when he did gospel. Months later the Lord told me that he had accepted the Lord on his deathbed wow
This might be a weird question, but I don’t mean it to be rude. How did the Lord tell you this? I’m sure He absolutely can reveal himself in various ways as God can certainly do all things but I am just wondering if there’s a story there. This harmony was absolutely beautiful.
@@melanieannette3781 hi Melanie. I have no idea how “the babies” would answer this question and I don’t know that there is any way to prove that God gives us insight like she has spoken of. However, this reminded me of a troubling time for me when my brother, who was a Christian, committed suicide. I could not understand why he did it. Then came one day when I was agonizing over it and asking the Lord why and couldn’t He, the Lord, have stopped him? Suddenly I honestly felt peace and the thought came into my mind as if God was actually telling me that my brother was suffering and He took him home. I no longer felt a need for a deeper explanation, even tho that answer didn’t explain much. That was 5 years ago. I miss my brother very much but I feel confident I’ll see him before very long. I no longer struggle with the why which is a great mercy!

First of all, my heart breaks for you and missing your brother even if you say you have found some peace. Death is an unnatural consequence for sin and suicide is such a tragedy I cannot imagine it happening to someone quite that close to me. I don’t believe of course that God actually causes suicide, but just because someone suffers that way in a horrible moment doesn’t mean that they cease to receive the grace of the Lord who loves and saves all who believe in Him and call upon His name.
To be clear, I wasn’t asking for proof or anything as I do not need that to know God is here with us, especially in our darkest times. I have just never had that type of experience exactly outside of just reading scripture itself and I am sure God speaks to people in other ways as well seeing as He reveals the truth to everyone including those who are unable to read and study the Bible as a written text.
That being said, I find the interplay between psychology and faith very interesting in matters of grief. I lost my dad when I was 11 and tried to kind of demand answers out of God at that time, which isn’t how that works but once I better understood prayer I did begin to recall certain versus from memory without realizing I’d memorized them and something would come to mind at the perfect time so I just wondered if it was something like that.
@@melanieannette3781 Yes, I think God often brings scripture to our minds just when we need them. One day we’ll no longer see thru a glass darkly but we’ll see face to face. I’ve often thought about many questions I want to ask when I see Him but you know, I think I won’t need one answer because He will be THE answer. Thank you for your kind words of sympathy and I can’t imagine how hard it was to lose your father when so young. Staying close in prayer and daily in His word is the best comfort. What a great reunion we’ll have when He returns for us!
@@melanieannette3781 I also know that God does not cause suicide! That is part of what I meant by what I felt the answer wasn’t complete. I learned later some of the details surrounding what happened. My brother was struggling with physical and mental illness. He lived very far from me so our only contact was over the phone when I was able to connect with him. He hid things well. But I learned later how ill he had been. Thinking that God took Him by allowing him to commit suicide is something that doesn’t make sense. It’s one of those questions I have that I won’t be surprised to not need an answer for once I’m in His presence. Until then, knowing that my brother was a strong believer, I trust the Lord’s perfect wisdom and that His will is what has been done. The answer I believe I was given that day I hope was true and that my brother is with Him in Heaven. But God is good no matter what!

Gods created beauty inside as well as out!! Jesus lives in their hearts and He radiates out from them even though they are humble in their Gifts!! God given gifts! He could take them away at any time and He gave it freely out of His love!
Yes, the world is telling young ladies that they aren't pretty unless they buy and wear makeup, but God created the real beauty.
I always remember Phil Robertson once saying "beware of a woman wearing lots of makeup & perfumes..., for they are trying to cover up alot of wickedness"

I grew up in a Mennonite church without any instruments. It was great to sing four-part harmony. Now that same church has all sorts of instruments and only a few people know how to sing acapella. It was great to hear you sing!
Very good point. Thankyou. To my ear this bluegrass style is horrible but after listening to this I realise that its the rackety instruments like banjos and the like which have been annoying me. I loved this acapella style of bluegrass gospel and hope that I can hear more of it.

Me, too! Although in our area, when hymns were done acapella at the funeral services I’ve been to recently, there was still lots of 4-part harmony, even though they have worship teams and instruments most of the time. I no longer attend a Mennonite church but I do miss that!

I wasn't sure if the Brandenburg''s were Mennonite as I have heard folks refer to them as Amish. I always thought the video lifestyle was too Engish/Modern for Amish...but they are both beautiful communities, people, and religions. Been looking for a Mennonite church in our area or Friends denominational service. Great inspirational performers by the way
My dad was a retired drill instructor and a total hard ass. We had a VERY turbulent relationship but as he got older and critically I'll I moved back home to help take care of him and my mom. Mom ended up in the nursing home and dad was there 13 days before he passed. I talked to him as well as my brother and he accepted Jesus as his salvation. I remember sitting in his room singing hyms to him. These women will touch more hearts thru their music than they know. God bless them

Dear Lord Show Me the Way! Hallelujah! So very sweet and moving! What a beautiful group of God fearing Ladies of Faith! My Mennonite heritage shines in me when I hear this wonder of gifted women. Real women not the distorted version that the worldly lost are caught in thinking is what a woman is. (Well actually they have no idea what a woman is lol. So Insane!) I'll pray for them all and love until it hurts. But I will Never turn back to that sinful life I once lived! Thank you Jesus for saving me and loving me even when I was yet still in sin and darkness.

I was in a 36 girl choir when I was in school and had the most amazing music teacher. She had each one of us sing our part individually until we got it down perfectly. @@protestant77 No, the Christians in the New Testament have always worshipped on Sunday, the first day of the week. You need to stop worshipping a day and worship Jesus instead. All you know is what the Old Testement Law says about the 7th day. We are not under the Law as Christians, and the Sabbath was NEVER given to us as Gentiles. And I obey Jesus and God's Word! There is not one single mention of the New Testament church worshipping on the Sabbath. They met and worshipped on Sunday. When did Paul instruct Christians to give? The 1st day of the week. You are a legalist and you're trying to put Christians under the Law! Read the book of Galatians.

I don’t know how you will ever find anyone who can play an instrument at the surreal level that these 3 people sing together. The very best instrumentalist I have ever known would definitely be the weakest link in the performance. By far. I’ve listened to them with and without. Instruments seem to hide something of their brilliance. Without the instruments they could command any stage in the world. I have never heard anything so near perfect. And I don’t mean flawless, I mean an organic, natural, (or maybe supernatural) perfection. They will carry any instrument or band to a higher level. But I don’t know of any instrument or instrumentalist that will carry them any higher than they are a cappella.

Just in case those of you don't know. Acapella is already hard enough on it's own.
