whats the weight of the redrilled flywheel? i run a manual trans in my mercedes 300td, and the factory flywheel is 38lbs, figured with a lighter one it might shake a bit more. just thought id ask, hunting another om617 for my 4runner
Isn't the OM617 an externally balanced engine? Would you comment on a good way to preserve the original flywheel or flexplate's balance characteristic in the new flywheel?
The entire rotating assembly is balanced as a whole. You must mark the flexplate before removal and have your new flexplate or flywheel match-balanced. Of course, that is many times not necessary as the stock flexplate is usually very close to neutral balanced.
Le ordenas el flywheel en el sitio del señor y se une a un clutch de 22re preferable k sea stage 2 o mas fuerte k ese por k va a tener lo doble de torque que el motor original
Any W series bellhousing can be swapped amongst W-series trannies. You'll have to do the research on input shaft length and throwout bearing, but you could run a W56 or W59 bellhousing. Starter is on right side for W56 and left side for W59.
@@doomsdaydiesel ok working on a jeep.someone built and it had a vacum silinoid on it but stopped working can figure it out i can get it to shut off but won't start back unless u unhook vacum like to injection pump like its holding vacum
Do you have the adapter for a 617 to 94 Land Rover discovery zf transmissions?
you should make one for VG transmission or VQ

Have you repowered one of your toy’s yet….if so how does it feel with the extra torque?

Hey Joe I need a adapter plate for a 2004 nissan xterra is that something you think you could make it will mount to a om617
I have an auto trans in mine but I want to do a 5 speed manual swap I will find out what it is and let you know
Would that adapter plate fit an OM616??? It would go to a 5-speed toyota manual trans. Same question for your engine mounts......
Joe Peterson yes, its the 2.4 L
so where will the pilot bearing go? wont the extra distance of the adapter make it impossible to use a pilot bearing?
Im still unsure how the imput shaft will reach into the pilot bearing if you put a spacer between the gearbox and engine?@@doomsdaydiesel
Que tipo de clutch y fly wheel se le pone el de toyota 22r o el de mercedes benz ??.Gracias
El flywheel es de Toyota, pero modificada. El clutch es la de Toyota sin modificaciones.

Are your flywheels the same mass or weight as stock?
They are stock
Looking to buy this kit for a 2wd version, would this kit work with a w58 trans??

How in the world are u gettin that thing to shut off u running vacum to it
Check out the wiring video. It uses a Toyota EGR solenoid and the CIG fuse power.

hello DD, what year/model toyota, is a good choice?
1984 & 1985 are easiest with factory steering. Otherwise, 86-95 are also great choices.
