    I agree with this assessment. The Rogue definitely wins, which is amazing considering that you didn't compare apples to apples trim levels. The Rogue SL compares to the Rav4 XLE. Then you would've had the 3-zone climate control, fog lights, memory seats and much more. Also, you mentioned that the Rav4 has the tap pad to unlock the doors, but the Rogue has keyless entry on all 4 doors, so I think that's actually more useful. Great video guys!

    The RAV4 has earned a stellar reputation for quality and dependability. But it is hard to deny the above class-avg refinement, cabin appointments, and features that Rogue brings(and remember, this is just an SV Premium: There are two higher trims above it). Nissan clearly understands the heart of the class, and offering a refined and quiet driving experience will go a long way. While I will never be a CVT fan, Nissan is largely successful here because they know their target demographic will rarely floor the accelerator of the Rogue, making the CVT a non-issue. You can't go wrong with either, but having recently driven both, Nissan's attention to detail and added polish can't be ignored.

    • @bigd7386
      @bigd7386 Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah, they really nailed the quality and the details. Just looking through the window of a new Rogue I was impressed with the interior. And it’s noticeably quieter even without having the device to measure actual decibels. I think those minute details will give people the impression they’re getting more/something premium for their money. That’s what I remember feeling when my mom got her first Maxima. I thought we had come up in the world. Lol

      Yeah but compare a Hybrid Limited RAV4 to a top trim rogue and it isn’t even close in anyway, the rav is objectively the better vehicle with 13 combined mpg difference and 17 city difference, much quieter cabin in hybrid, much faster, tows more, better off-road, just as much room, ev mode for camping etc, driving dynamics

      @@spol1622 most Nissan dealerships are doing lifetime power train warranties. The nissans have so much more tech and than the Toyota’s at this point. Ive spent the last 3 years loving rav4s but just drove a 2021 rogue on a 600mile road trip. It was a base SV awd and it was so much nicer than the rav4hybrids I drove. Obviously you get better mpg in the hybrid rav but they felt cheap and the seats suck. No power passenger seat and the packages are such a scam with toyo. I honestly think we are gonna end up buying a rogue over the rav4 hybrid because it just drove better and had more tech. The seats actually lay flight too!

I fanboi’d over the ravs hard. Still would go with a prime if I could find one. And I’m not stoked on the reliability of Nissan cvts. But the rav seats suck. And they don’t fold completely flat, which is important to me. They def get great mpg which is half the reason I’d want a rav, but the other half they fall short on amenities.

    Nissan really have been stepping up their game the past couple years, it’s not the same Nissan that people remember from years ago. Interior quality has jumped leaps and bounds and also the styling both interior and exterior has been greatly improved. If they could come up with a much more competitive powertrain and transmission combo and little better driving dynamics but keep the price competitive like they are now, Nissan would leave their shady past of quality a distant afterthought.

      The Rogue has an excellent AWD system and active stability control and similar ground clearance to the Rav4. A poorly documented behavior (intentional) with the Rogue's AWD system is that it is 2wd ALWAYS when speed is above about 15mph. You only get rear wheel power to avoid getting stuck and to get started. I don't think most drivers would notice that deficiency with the Rogue though as you'll be hard pressed to find this mentioned in any reviews.

    Rogue SV costs same as RAV4 or CR-V, pretty much, and you get a moonroof, quieter engine, faster acceleration, better gas mileage, better ride, and it feels the nicest all around. None beat it in terms of space either.
    Some complain about the CVT, except it isn't really a problem, and in fact can keep RPMs way down.
