The rhythm guitarist/vocalist Miku Kobato's last name is/can be written using Kanji for small [ko] pigeon [bato or hato]. Being from the start the main spokesperson of the band she played upon that name and said she was a small pigeon. In Japanese the sound a pigeon makes is written Kuruppo and shortened to Po. So she took to using "Kuruppo" as a greeting and ending her sentences with "Po" when in character.

Miku has a 3+ octave vocal range. She is an excellent singer. Also, Akane on harmony vocals.

As others have said, "When 3/5 of this band is as good or better than most full bands, it says how great these ladies really are!" Love the Miku songs, "Time" and "Rock in Me" are a couple more excellent Miku songs! Love that we get to here Akane do backing vocals in this, so good! This Christmas performance was one of the best presents I ever received!

My 2nd favorite Japanese band is Vivid Undress, they stopped 2 years ago. Miku did several solo songs, on several occasions I felt the influence of Vivid Undress. Kiila and Miku have a bit similar voice, the musicians from Vivid Undress are so good. - vivid undress「スクランブル(SCRAMBLE)」MV - - czcams.com/video/hxYrgk364pg/video.htmlsi=ntl2O0tXQMRPcu-_

You got the names down! 👏🏽 From here, you will find yourself collecting all the little details and quirks in the Band Maid universe.
“Kuruppo” (and its variants) is Miku’s nickname; it’s her personal, slightly mispronounced Japanese word for “pigeon.” She leans into the character, claiming she is actually a small, 810 year old pigeon. (Just play along) “Po” is the Japanese version of “coo,” or the sound a pigeon makes. Miku has the habit of ending all her sentences with “po!” Watch the Japanese interviews and you’ll see everyone making a joke about it, being confused and wondering if Miku is insane.
Band Maid is like a living video game of discovery. There are many paths to explore and learn all sorts of things about each member. There are documentaries on each member produced by Ohrenje that are spectacular quality. (Miku’s is three parts!)
Miku’s guitars are Zemaitis, both electric and the acoustic you see here. She is a spokesperson for the brand and has her own signature model, of course called “Flappy Pigeon.”
Eric Clapton famously owned an acoustic with this heart shaped soundhole. The intricately carved metal top electric guitars are all handmade. Famous players other than our beloved Miku are Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones), and Rich Robinson (Black Crowes)

"Sayonakidori" = Nightingale. The song is Miku's take on Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet. In the play, one can hear the nightingale's song drifting through evening scenes. It's one of Shakespeare's most well known bird references. The Nightingale reference is "Juliet mistakes the lark's song for the nightingale's, hoping that her evening romance with Romeo can continue. Romeo corrects her and departs her bedroom at dawn".
Miku claims she is an 810 year old small pigeon. She ends all her sentences with "Po" and may say hello by shouting "Kurrupo". Both Kurrupo and the shortened version Po is the noise a pigeon makes in Japanese (in English a pigeon coo's). Her last name Kobato literally means small pigeon. Fun fact - in Japan there is no difference between a pigeon and a dove, both are the same bird.
Check out the documentaries on each band member on Ohrenje's YT channel, they are very professional. They start with Saiki and end with Miku. Each member has a 30 min or so documentary, Miku has 3 - she is a complicated little pigeon! They are fascinating and worth reacting to.

This comes from a 16 song concert from a couple of years ago, with each song have various members of the band. There is a cd available. Miku usually gets to do a solo song from each album- this from their last album Unseen World 2021. All Miku's guitars are Zemaitis. Cluppo is Miku in her solo project. She has a 6 track EP called Hatofull 2022, which has some fantastic, different music, as only Miku can do- Jpop to jazz rock fusion.

Miku didn’t play guitar in the beginning. Management wanted to balance the bands look with another guitar.
Saiki said no since she didn’t feel comfortable sing lead and playing guitar and didn’t have musical instruments training.
So, Miku said she would learn so they didn’t have to bring in another guitarist!
She started out with a Rickenbacker but was asked by Zemaitis if she would play one of theirs.
She has made great progress considering she has really only played for less than 10 years, but she had her Sensei “Kanami” teaching her.
Zemaitis even let her help in the design of her signature guitar the “Flappy Pigeon”. She even revealed her next custom guitar at their 10 year Anniversary concert. Which has a more Telecaster look.
Keep reacting…you still have 100+ songs watch and react to.
    🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!

i recommend you react to all the documentaries of each member that Ohrenje did. They are great info on each member. The order of the videos that will be the best are Saiki, Kanami, Akane, Misa and Miku to finish. Note that Miku has 3 parts as it covers the band as a whole after the Miku information. Nice reaction to this acoustic and it is totally different than the plugged in version of the song.

Miku is endorsed by Zemaitis so uses both electric and acoustic models of theirs. They can all sing and do so in this acoustic concert, Misa and Akane doing backing vocals on a couple of songs. I'm pretty much 100% sure that they all contribute backing vocals on various songs for studio recordings. Misa and Akane do not normally sing live as they have both said that they find it difficult to sing whilst playing the way that they do, which is not simply following the melody or keeping the beat.

Miku's names and aliases form tricky territory but - with some trepidation - here goes:
In the context of Band-Maid she is known as Miku Kobato, a stage name. She was probably originally Mika Noguchi, which is the name under which she first attempted to launch a singing career. 'Kobato' translates as 'small pigeon' and from whence comes her fascination with the birds is a mystery to me, but it could have been worse (it could have been sharks! ).
'Kurrupo' is onomatopoeic, mimicking the sound made by pigeons (and doves) and then shortened by Miku to 'po'. With the exception of one interview I'm not aware of it ever being used to refer to Miku, and I'm inclined to believe it was a later abandoned attempt by her to establish a new alias. Miku is most often called 'Kobato' (sometimes shortened to 'Koba') both by others and herself.
I may be wrong about any or all of this, in which case please correct me gently!
