Just ordered it. I've bought a few brothers knives and they are pretty nice and budget friendly. Thanks for the review

Hello Legionnaire: It is true that the F017 is a chinese imitation of the Survive GSO 4.5, made in the USA and in CPM 154 steel, with much higher edge quality and better resistance to oxidation than the D2 steel of the F017. The quality of chinese D2 steel will respond to the treatment, mainly thermal, that the manufacturer has given it, but normally it does not go beyond medium-low. But seeing the test you have subjected the F017 to, I am beginning to think that certain chinese cutlery manufacturers are trying to improve their products and make their way into the international market by offering pieces with a more than acceptable quality-price ratio... And for $40 or euros, that's enough for me. Good knife and very capable, I told you in a previous comment, as long as we use our heads well to work with it without crossing its limits of fragility. Very good video, Legionnaire, greetings from Barcelona.

👍Vey nice. The spine is easily corrected with a diamond file or stone. This would be a great companion knife.

Great review I love this knife. Have you checked out the Flissa 9” bushcraft? It’s a really great value too and the spine is sharp. It’s a Scandi grind with D2 and leather sheath between 20-27 bucks depending on handle material.

Great knife with a very orthodox drop point and saber grind. To say it is a copycat is nonsense. Most knives on the market are imitations of designs that existed in the past. But what's the problem with that? There are great knives out there. That's all that matters.

This is a copy of a Survive Knives GSO knife. I don't care, especially since Guy is a scam artist. I'm actually happy someone will still be producing his blades since he's closing up shop with over a million dollars is unfulfilled prepaid orders. But yeah, it's definitely an exact copy.

I love the fact you put more budget knives to the test. I have a brothers watchman knife I love but you wouldn't because you do the same type testing that always favors bigger knives. You get into serious testing but do some edc knives that aren't so big to expand your audience. Check out mossy oak MO23009AE a super knife in decent steel. 8.5 inch overall fixed blade. Pocket able. Edc great for the price but it is not big enough to chop logs. I have spent a lot of time in the woods and camping. Lived in a tipi in the cascade mountains for a year. Never had to chop a log in half with my knife. Expand your testing for more realistic usage determined by size and you will expand your audience. Some other knife people I know don't like your tests because of the big knife bias.

Just found your channel, love the way you put this knife thru the paces giving it such a goood test, will subscribe and watch more of your videos, keep up the good work, I actually went and ordered one of these knives but will not deliver until about 5 weeks I assume as out of stock, but saw the same in an F06 so ordered it for delivery in 2 days , hopefully its as good of a knife looks like an inch shorter and a differant handle material and has a Scandi grind have you tested that knife, trusting as same manufacturer same quality of build

That's a good knife whether you can afford a three or four hundred dollar bushcraft knife or not. It's not a Wright knife, but it's not a wrong one either. I'd take that any day and I just might pick one up too.

it pisses me off that they didn't sharpen the edge properly for working with firestarter, I'll have to modify it. Apart from this minor flaw, it's a great knife

It's not D2 why do people why can't we get rid of that ancient steel that steel by the way do some history on it is older than me you and it probably everybody you know they put this great talent on making a knife and they use ancient old s*** steel there's way better steel out there way better edge retention I'll take 14 c over D2 any day and it's not your fault I'm not mad at you
