Tee Grizzley recently responded to comments made by rapper Royce Da 5'9 during an interview, where Royce revealed Eminem had considered collaborating with Tee Grizzley but waited for more hit records. Tee Grizzley defended himself, stating he didn't know about Royce's comments during an earlier interview. Royce, in turn, faced criticism for not addressing the situation directly with Tee Grizzley and was accused of gatekeeping and using the opportunity to promote his own projects.

You could have replaced grizzly with any other up and coming Detroit street rapper and the outcome would have been the same. Mad because he didn’t get the stimulus package. There’s nothing about Tee that separates him from the pack other than the fact that he had a moment by now that moment has come and passed. 3 years since that breakfast club interview and no other hits under his belt kinda under writes what Royce said and proved him right. Now there’s a new class of Detroit rappers who have lapped Tee Grizzly
