@@Aeon_Is_Near Think about this way what if SMT V features not only Dante / Old Man Dante or Nero from Devil May Cry but also features Bayonetta from Bayonetta 3 because SMT V is going to be on Switch plus SMT has both angels and demons in it.
It wouldn't be the exact Devil May Cry and Bayonetta crossover we all have been waiting for but it'd be a step in the right direction.

4:10 I didn't want to smile at this moment but I did because Reuben Langdon's delivery as Dante is always good. Maybe the Madhouse DMC anime wasn't at his best but the consistency and familiarity was one of the very few reasons to watch it.
This Dante was voiced by Matthew Kaminsky, just like DMC2.

I personally run demi fiend to be the equivalent of a spellsword, able to use his high magic to heal, provide buffs and debuffs, and to make the most out of bolt storm and magma axis
I run all rounder Demifiend cause I usually try to get Masakados and cause Magatama patch up my crummy stats
I'm going for a speedster type because my past exp in iv helped me. but today I learned that his mag gets weaker.
@@Neobelmont1 magic "supposedly" falls off in the 20s but it's actually better since it's objectively stronger than phys for most of early to midgame(aka the hard part of Nocturne)

I think it’s more about being stylistically in line with the Devil May Cry series. Even his in-battle lines have more echo/reverb.
Which yes, maybe realistically outside there’s less surfaces to bounce sound off of. But the thing is that it would be fun. And that’s honestly all I care about.

Last time I played this shit just fucking crits everyone down to hell. Not even Hardtype.
Rebellion actually are able to miss even in the Original and Hardtype. I remember I fought Matador in the first kalpa as a Full Kagutsuchi special encounter in Hardtype, he uses his Red Capote... And I use Dante's Rebellion... I was shocked that he dodged it. I have a video proof of it, but haven't upload it up.
The Rebellion here is still able to critical nightmare us, so I guess it's still there.
@@arlynanderson4801 That was from the player's Dante though. As a boss he could never miss a single Rebellion, and from my experiences he never fucking missed it just even once.

Maybe it's the japanese thingy that their version ease up the difficulties and some mechanics/aspects and the western version didn't really make too much changes other than localization. But that's just my assumption, i could be wrong and talking out of my a...

@@arlynanderson4801 since they've made a lots of tweaks on the Remastered version, I think that might be the reason. Must have nerfed Rebellion's hit rate down.

It's because there's no fall damage in DMC.
Also, if Dante is with you when you jump off that building, he'll take no damage.
Jeez I forgot that Dante was out for blood here, kept spamming those Rebellions to either grab the crit pass or tried to finish off Naoki as quickly as possible.

Am I the only one that likes how Dante was portrayed in DMC 2? Sure, it's not my favorite portrayal but at least it's not Don'te from the "Reboot." Anyway, Dante is Dante and Atlus understood that better than Capcom did between DMC 4 and 5. (I know the VA was the topic but I felt like DMC 2's portrayal needed a shout out since it was brought up.)

It's possible. Especially considering Dante, Nero, & V were all added as "guest" characters in the SMT mobile game. So it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for us to get a Vergil cameo....maybe even an optional (and extremely hard!) boss fight against both Dante & Vergil at the same time?

@@thelel6591 I kind of like Dante from DMC2, as long as I consider it his final entry in the series. Like he's seen everything there is to see, so there's no excitement anymore.
@@WanderSeth Dante's issue in DMC2 was that the story was boring even for him and didn't involve Vergil in some way. Depressed, not as jokey Dante continues from 2 into the beginning of 4 when he meets Nero and realizes that he still has family and he gets noticeably chipper

One thing I am noticing with this game after having played the original so many times is that the HD remaster just feels so much slower, like it just being dragged out and taking that little bit of extra time.
What did they change to make you feel this way?
@@Spaghettaboutit Not really sure, it is just something that you feel. Something about the remaster just feels sluggish compared to the snappy original. Like I stated before it feels like it takes that extra little bit of time for everything. I played the original a lot to the point that I know most of the game almost by instinct, and as a result I can tell when something feels off.
It could be because of the frame rate. I've heard it takes a hit sometimes in battle, especially with AOE attacks. Maybe that's what's causing the sluggish feeling.
@@pizzatime9261 No, this is different. I know what a tanking framerate looks like, and yes, this version of the game does suffer heavily from it. But it is more even with basic actions when the framerate keeps up. I spoke to a friend of mine and he said that it felt like everything seems to take just a little bit longer to load, like every action has to go through some short loading screen leading to the sluggishness and that some things are out of sync. Don't know if that's the case, but it is the closest to a solid answer I have found.

I laughed my ass off when the game gave me the option to jump off of the Mantra tower. Because it just seemed so out of left field and illogical. I don't have the Dante DLC, just the vanilla game with Raidou. So if I had seen Dante's introduction beforehand, the part where it let me jump off the tower would have been much less funny given the context
Then again, the first version of the game didn't have Dante, so being given the option to jump off would have been hilarious there, too. Because there would be no context

kaneko was a big dmc fan, so they did a crossover where dante would be in an smt game and kaneko designed the devil trigger forms for dmc3
Story wise? It's a big spoiler if you decide to go for the True Demon Ending. But Kazuma Kaneko was a fan of DMC and decided to make the Devil Triigger artwork for Dante and Virgil. Some higher up at Capcom liked the artwork so much that they wanted to use it for DMC2 and onward. Kaneko agreed only if Capcom let them have Virgil for the Maniax edition
With my minimal SMT knowledge, whenever Demi-Fiend is mentioned in later games, there is no mention of funny wahoo pizza man, meaning most likely he isnt canon, like how the very first version of SMT 3 had no Dante/Raidou included
It is somewhat contradictory though because people somewhat agree on that the TDE/True Demon Ending (one of the routes where you fight Dante like twice and then make him an ally) are canon, so idk
So story-wise, Dante here got case, or rather invited, by Lucifer himself and join the clash of all fiends for menorah. Unlike other fiends, he still has his own logic and instead of going all massacre, he's rather curious of Lucifer case
Later on he wi instead join you if you want, even telling he being hired by the hunted one is joke of century
A lot of people like to think that when Dante goes to hell at the end of DMC 2, he ends up in SMT 3.

And I feel, atleast personally, the games are becoming less supernatural and just "secret method of the game" to enter funny Persona place compared to P1 and P2, and especially SMT. P3 had an entire passage of time, P4 had the alternate world thing with TV, and P5 just has app, so the concept of Demon Killer would be quite weird, especially when Raidou has already been "set-up" in earlier games
