JHS hired me to demo 3 of the $99 pedals from their 7 pedal 3 series line up. (AREN'T NUMBERS FUN?!?!?!?) I do all my normal stuff with them and then do a couple jams at the end. Which do you preffer? Which would you buy? What's your favorite color?

Man. The white one sounds great.
He’s pink
But what about the white one? It sounded pretty good, too.
Reminds me of a certain Beatles album.
I know
The white man sounded great, yes.
This is a great three pedal combination, I'd like them to be my mini-board (hate to break the trilogy theme, but damn that vibrato option on the "Chorus" is super sweet, too...) And-- all Fuzzes need a bias knob. Congrats on the recognition from the JHS crew.
The problem with his demos, he fais to tell us what he uses for noise suppression. You know he does. I want to know.
Honestly Ryan I'm 33 seconds in and just have to say, fuck the haters dude. You get so many sounds out of these pedals. One of the best demoers out there.
I’ve never bought a JHS pedal because of the expense. Now I might.
I've never bought one because Josh belongs to a weird Christian cult.
Andru Jorj used I think, I think he abandoned that path years ago
@@alien9422 Yes. I heard he is now a satanist, walking the Left Hand Path.
And now they have made a budget pedal with basic tones that's only twice the price of the boss version
Dinger Bell the overdrive maybe, if you’re comparing it to an sd-1. There’s not many $50 boss pedals, really.
That fuzz is crazy good! I've watched other demos already and the od and distortion are great too. Love your demos Ryan. Keep up the great work man!
I was surprised at the quality of these pedals for $99 it’s a really good deal.
Oh wow. I was going to get one or few of the legend of fuzz pedals but the moment you started to play this fuzz I knew this one is for me. Thanks for the demo as usual!
That moment when Ryan blended all 3 and made the next Panos Cosmatos movie soundtrack. Sometimes its fun to play pedals
I don't usually go for JOYO's stuff, but I liked their response to this company trying to drive up the price of some of their equipment.
Man...they all sound great! These are going to fly off the shelves. The chorus (in the JHS vid) sounds like it’ll do a perfect CE-2, but goes fast enough for Leslie sounds AND has a switch for true vibrato. There’s a few instant classics in this line.
Ordered a fuzz (in Melbourne, Australia, from a local store) immediately after seeing it on the JHS channel and it arrived just two days later (a minor miracle). These pedals cost AUS$180 which is still a mightily reasonable price for such a quality pedal. I've been playing it literally all day. There is so much room on this pedal, from a nice tasteful fuzz distortion to utter madness. And you're right, that bias knob is the key. Your demonstrations were so much fun to watch. I've been having just as much fun today as you were.
And I totally agree about the reverb before delay on a pedalboard. Like many players, I have a reverb unit on my ampilfier, so I've always got reverb after the delay anyway, even without a pedal. I love the soft sound of a reverbed signal going into delay.
It's clever the way that JHS has brought out a range of pedals with identical layouts (all with three knobs and a toggle switch), all the same colour and a uniform graphic design. These details would've kept the cost of production right down so that we get maximum bang for our bucks. They may not look so sexy, but you could always decorate them with stickers or whatnot if you wanted to.
Curious, how much is a day’s wages in Australia?
@@wallacewinston3627 I'd say (very rough estimate) abour $30 per hour on average. So, $240 for an eight hour day. You need to work five hours to afford one of these pedals. Not bad. Actually, they only cost $165, not $180 as I previously stated. I had to pay $15 for postage.
@@NewFalconerRecords that is quite reasonable then.
@@wallacewinston3627 I'm not complaining, that's for sure. I just bought the compressor as well as the fuzz. Absolute bang for the buck as far as I'm concerned. Both pedals are magnificent.
Your tone from 9:30 to 9:40 is to die for!! That reverb and guitar sound awesome together!
those tones are stellar my dude.
I think the reverb and delay were just fantastic. Thanks for the review, because I'll have some extra cash later this month to splurge on some new pedals.
My fav pedal manufacturer has a release day! Time to scan the Tube for all my favorite reviewer's. ... and 60 CyCle Hum as well. :) I actually enjoy the channel.
For those of you who didn't see the JHS video, these aren't based on cheap pedals either, so you're not just getting a cheap overdrive, cheap delay, etc.
Totally agree that reverb should come before delay. Ever since I started ordering them that way, I'll never go back.
Just when I thought I was fully satisfied with my pedal board... That reverb and fuzz are pretty nice!
These JHS pedals are EFFING BOMB!!! They don't sound canned to me. They sound really, really sweet!! I saw your review on the Flamma pedals and they sound so canned. Plus, Josh is such a brilliant pedal designer. Finally, MADE in the USA. BRING IT!!!
"Blue's Theme", I haven't heard that in many years!
i'm a big Davie Allan fan
Just seeing your smiles with the self oscillating delay was enough to convince me to buy the delay.
"There's not a lot of reason for anyone to do that."
Oh, I beg to differ.
I forget what this is in reference to, but im sure its hilarious.
@@60CycleHumcast - Delay self-oscillating into oblivion.

Even as a purveyor of noise, I gotta say , I never really understood why the infinite regeneration on Delays was sold as some desireable feature. It's like the one trick pony of all rodeos.
nice note on the pre-amp boost/eq. worth knowing for sure
I agree! reverb before delay... plus another really big shimmery verb afterwards for fun
i'm glad someone else has noticed how dirty the Memory Toy can get, that's exactly what the delay pedal reminded me of too! i used to use one in a shoegazey noise band, it was perfect for big warbling washes of sound
caro lam it’s an under appreciated delay. I prefer it to the other memory delay models from ehx.
Wow, that Delay pedal offers up a whole lot to the table for just $99!
6:54 SCREAMING at screen "USE YOUR GUITAR VOLUME TO SHOW HOW WELL IT CLEANS UP!!!!"
"I thought it was fun!" Yea, looks like you're having fun alright. Well done. Lots of depth.
I’ve liked what I’ve been hearing from these so far. Great video Ryan!
I got the reverb for Christmas. It’s really nice, easy to use and sounds great. No crazy sounds or sparkles just great reverb.
I want a Bias Tremolo in the series! like the Swamp Thang, depth, rate , volume. Analog circuit. Simple and affordable.
tremolo would be awesome, Im sure if they sell enough of these there will be an expansion of the line.
Agreed. This is an opportunity to do the Tuna Melt trem circuit in good housing. I'd buy two.
Lovely noodling and enthusiasm.
The spit in the first segment of the Outro was smile inducing. And the barry-tone was very nice in every segment.
I know you love that splaty gated fuzz. You went nuts over the Cuvave. Hahahaa. This has that velcro going on!
Yeah, i love broken sounds, lol. Im pretty stoked that they made the fuzz with that potential. It would have been easy to make another muff style fuzz and grab a lot of sales off of it.
@@60CycleHumcast I think we're gonna need a side by side of the Cuvave and this JHSFuzz
If you open up the back plate of the JHS, you'll see it's just a Cuvave stuffed in there 😂
@@60CycleHumcast If you like broken/glitchy style fuzzes you might like something along the lines of the Caline puffer fuzz.
The fuzz sounds like Smashing Pumpkins tone in a single box
Close but not quite, if it were me I’d stack the JHS fuzz with an op amp big muff pi and sprinkle in an octave like a pog just to really piss off my neighbours
Not so much; those were Muffs or Fender Blenders, both are the farther side of the spectrum. This is more early Maestro territory.
Billy had a modified amp.
I tried all 7 of them out the other day and was pleasantly surprised.
Just plain good and basic...affordable and American-made.
I think JHS knocked it out of the park with these simple little guys :)
DUDE. That psychedelic jam thing you did towards the end with the looped fuzz chords underneath it -- if you have any tunes you've recorded in a similar vein, then please, point me in that direction. I will be all over that shit.
I do not, sorry.
That one fuzz sounds like pac man on acid ...cool as always awesome
Holy Cow the oscillation you got on the delay reminds me so much of a sound Aphex Twin used years ago. I was listening to the video in the background and that sound immediately made me stop and pay attention!
Also you’ve convinced me to try putting my delay after reverb.
I ordered a reverb pedal ! Hope it works good for me ! Sounds good ! Thanks !
10 months late to the party, but I think I found my pedals. Simple controls, no need for a manual, no fugly art and $99. I got my eye on the Reverb and the Delay. Fuzz I may actually get.
With the bias up on the fuzz, it sounds like an old video game soundtrack
On my phone speaker
I like to run the fuzz with the bias wide open and the fuzz low. Sounds like a driven amp there. 6:41 is kinda what I’m talking about, right in there.
Another thing I like to do is record two guitar parts, and have the only difference is that one has the predelay on and the other has it off. Pan them hard left and hard right and you have an instant 3D mix. I have reverbs that cost several times what the 3 does and it’s still one of my favorites.
Ikinda hope that Josh hires a bunch of local artists to paint these pedals and then sell them for a bit more. JHS 3 Artist Series.
Great Video Ryan, just when you think you have a good board going. Out goes the carpet under your feet that someone pulled. Isn't that just the way it is with our passions. We will never be satisfied!!! LOL
I know I’m a couple months late to this episode, but I’m like 90% certain that the riff at 12:05 was “Wake” by Hillsong!
They’ve sold two for sure. Definitely ordering the delay and reverb.
The Keeley Eccos was like that, my signal sounded louder and fuller just turning it on like they have a super buffer in there
@leductdh death and taxes, oh, and exchange rate. Sucks!
Love the spacey surf rock tones .....
Cool......
At some point I will have a complete 3 series board. Just because.
Damn, I need all of these now.
Used to have their "Kilt" pedal. Loved it. Wish I still had it.
First time I’ve heard of that
At the 23:00 mark I think I was on a stoner space ship flying through the stars zapping aliens as I pass them! WOAH
still $70 more than my precious chinese knock offs
you enjoy that MIC crap.
that is the fuzz ive been looking for
my favorite fuzz of all time is the Rowin Frenzy!
yes i would love a million baritone videos please
Seems like the mix knob can go fairly low for that almost imperceptible echo that just fattens it up w the one or two fairly short repeats But we know your not subtle LoL Good demo though Think I'm gonna get the reverb
very good demo nice job
Now I just need a shootout video between the overdrive and the Plumes.
.. wait, disregard that. 😉
I just got the reverb one. It’s a cool pedal for the price. Granted, the back cover on mine was over torqued, as I tried to assess the 9v battery thing. To my surprise, there’s no spot on these pedals to supply a battery. They have to be powered externally. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note. Coming from boss, mxr, that was definitely a surprise.
Once you go to external power you’ll never miss the battery thing, I promise
Both my TC pedals have a battery option. Needless to say, it's a pain in the ass. I was trying out my Flashback 2 when I first got it and the battery died in two hours. It didn't glitch out, it just went completely dead.
External power is where it's at👍
Dang that reverb sounds cool
That sound at 0:08!
JHS hired the correct man for this job.
I bought but a Series 3 Fuzz pedal just to run through my EVJ valve Jr.
Just three bricks and you'll get a full wall of sound out of it. Wohoow! Especially the Fuzz was interesting for me; ... and Fuzz has never been that for me so far. But this one lets me reconsider my beliefs. Next G.A.S. is on its way ...
1 reverb before your delays, the rest after, except maybe 1 before drives as well.
Love your videos!
I have the Series 3 Fuzz and noticed you're also getting significant hum below 50% with humbuckers also. I take it that is just how it is from your experience & not a fault?
Fuzz is like exploding your guitar sound. They sound messy and nasty and noisy always, so that’s probably just the circuitry.
Sound pretty good across the board.
That fuzz almost sounds bit crusherish, me likey! !
Dude. Love the videos. Just picked up the reverb. Been noticing a bit of breakup when the decay is up. Any idea why? Keep up the great videos !!!❤️❤️❤️
This video was as much a demo of the Harmony as it was the pedals. Good stuff. I very much appreciate you not playing pentatonic licks.
Your videos are great! l'm a fan!!
If dialed in just right, you can get from the fuzz the tone of the Led Zep riff from "How Many More Times". For $99, it's worth to have just for nailing that fuzz tone alone.
I bought the Fuzz in this series. The Bias gives no sound past 12 o'clock. What am I doing wrong?
I'm hear to see if the Delay is a copy of the Ibanez DE-7, so I have a back up if mine fritzes out again.
Curious about seeing the pedal guts! Do a tear down, compare with other pedals.
If that fuzz box had an image on it, it would be the EverReady cat upside down with X's over it's eyes.
You can paint it, I guess....
Might want to clean the fretboard on that one.
Andru Jorj yeah, I didn’t even notice the grime until I started editing the video. It shows that I actually play this guitar a lot, lol. I’ll give it a clean with the next string change.
@@60CycleHumcast Can't blame you for playing it as much as you do, they're gorgeous guitars! Try washing your hands before playing. You'll maximize string life and minimize grime. Thanks for the demo and review!
Don't like fuzz for me but the Delay and Reverb are great.
They all sound amazing but out of the 3... I'd end up with that fuzz
Ryan, did adjust the trim pot to reign in the modulation on your memory toy? I’ve seen reviews where players say it’s too strong out of the box.
I don't remember ever doing that, I tend to use the modulation sparingly anyways.
I love the delay play. That's what Jimi was doin' back on Are You Experienced. I dig it. Who needs a reason.
The Fuzz sounds great but Ryan has a killer rig and fingers that work pretty good.😂 I dont.
What are you you using for noise gate?
For the money, I think I'd get the most mileage out of that reverb
@ 26:47 it sounds like he's playing Detachable Penis by King Missile
I saw the fuzz reviewed on anderson's and thought, oh god you need to play with it XD
“Splatty” 😂
These scream to be painted with nail polish 💅🏻
nice...
EXXXXXCCCCELLENT.
you know you really have nothing to do if you watch this through
Wish he would've given them a more unique look, kinda how like when you buy the plumes, you're not thinking, "oh, this is the CHEAP line of Earthquaker pedals..."
Yes I watched all the way to the end I like petals on my keyboard player pianos the funkadelic's had a pianist who love petals Bernie royale
What guitar is that? Its beautiful

@@60CycleHumcast tnx:)
Jhs 99 or Cuvave 19?
JHS. The Cuvaves are slightly different versus Ryan's favorite. He did an A/B shootout between them and the new ones suck now.😕
@@joellebrodeur1015 yes mate. I have bought a Cuvave for 7 Euros in a Ali Express promotion but it was totally diferent. Now I get a JHS Fuzz 3 Series directly with Josh in a trade. I have sent him a very rare Boss product! 😎
That fuzz sounds terrible with the bias turned all the way up.
All being the same colour is going to make it harder in low-light situations.
They sound great though.
Put a different sticker on each of them to differ them.
We’re you actually going to buy more than one? And then have them right next to each other? And then forget the order of your own pedalboard?
@@60CycleHumcast There's 4 (maybe 5) of them that I'm eyeing, and I don't always keep things in the same order depending on what I'm feeding in. (shh, don't tell anyone, but I'm one of those dirty synthesiser types)
I showed them to my Mrs and she said she'll do a fancy Old English style capital letter in enamels on each one.. So it's less of a problem now.. 😁
Migraine Gainn an easy thing to do would be swapping knobs. Get some colored knobs for each one.
@@60CycleHumcast I've got a pack of colored switch toppers to start off, so I'll go on from there.. That's a great suggestion though, thanks
. :)
Those 3 pedals sound quite nice but they are a little overpriced in my opinion. But... what about the other 4? Is anyone seriously thinking that somebody will pay $100 for an overdrive?!
I currently own 5 overdrives. All of them are above $100.
you realize that people plop down thousands of dollars for Klons and hundreds of dollars for all manner of tube screamer clones?
Add me to the list of people that have overdrives that cost more than that. I have 9 current drive pedals and NONE of them are cheaper than $99.
@@60CycleHumcast Well, that's a mystery to me. But if people have that money to spend, then why not? Anyway, if one is looking for a specific sound he/she can always buy a clone or... improve the playing skills. But if the motivation is another one (status, build a museum,...), then perhaps it is worth the price.
João Pires a normal tube screamer is like $100 new. I have no idea what you think is a normal price but $99 is on the lower side of retail pedals these days.
