  • 2 years ago OM System launched the OM-1, its flagship model, micro-four-thirds sensor camera. The camera was extremely well received by outdoor photographers but not one to rest on their laurels; they have been working in close proximity with its users and have implemented many useful upgrades for the new OM-1 Mark II.
Join me as I explore many of these new features in this action packed video.

Love the photo of the building in the dusk - with trees, was this using the 14-bit Raw?

That was using regular settings. A 14-bit RAW version would have been even better.

Yes, the improvements to the Mark II could mostly have been given to the original OM-1 in a software upgrade. I own the original OM-1 and will likely not be purchasing the Mark II version. However, if I did not already own the original OM-1 and wanted "an" OM-1 I would go for the Mark II. (Although, you can buy a used OM-1 in "excellent" condition now for around $1500 US, which is about $900 less than the newer model. If you don't really care about the upgrades, the original OM-1 is an excellent camera.)

I’m torn. From what I’ve read, many of the new features, including AF improvements needed the increased memory. OM systems, should give the OM-1i owners whatever AF improvements here that will fit. Maybe they will. Its pricing is also about 10-20% higher than it should be. Personally, I like the camera and could see picking it up sometime in the future, but it’s priced like the EM1X was priced, and that hurt the market for that camera.

@@derekgpony Agree. I'll be hanging on to what I have until someone sells this with a few $$ shaved off.
