He was all “girl you better work!” Made me laugh. Everyone is super sweet and fun to work with. The customers are very forgiving too. It’s been great :)
After turning 16 last year, I began applying to all Starbucks in my area only to eagerly jump at an opportunity to work at a Sonic (Jun-Aug). I took a break for school and in January, I reapplied to the same Starbucks locations but to no avail; I ended up getting hired by Domino's where I worked until July of this year when I finally landed a job with Starbucks. How did I finally land a position as a barista? With persistence, patience, and proactivity. Yes, I landed an in-person interview with a Starbucks that decided to not move forward with me but what actually got me the job was after I went to Target with my family where I asked for a manager. I asked if there were any positions available and she directed me to the career section of the Target website. I applied for fulfillment and got a virtual interview offer for a position to be a barista at their Starbucks inside. Fast forward to now and I have a coffee-brewing job awaiting me back at home when I come back from vacation. The point is everything happens for a reason and you cannot lose your determination, even through speed bumps of discouragement. I hope this can inspire at least one person.
You definitely inspired me. Ive applied to a few Starbucks locations last week and just realized i had to call them to make sure they saw my application. Almost all of them didnt answer but one. I get a little nervous when it comes to calling for some reason but im glad i pushed through and hopefully i get an interview.
This will possibly be my first job EVER! I'm mostly scared and nervous about actually making the drinks. I'm so worried about forgetting the difference between each drink and all sorts of stuff. But I hope I can land the job first- Thank you so much for your videos they've helped me a lot with my nerves around this!

My tip for sequencing is don’t overwhelm yourself!! If you can only efficiently focus on 2 or 3 drinks at a time, then do that. But the way I see it is just start building each drink (syrups, milk, espresso, etc.), after you do the first 2-3 steps of that drink, switch to the next and repeat. Don’t get too focused on *one* drink, keep skipping around. Hope this makes sense 🤍
no big deal at all! when you get the job offer extended to you, just let your manager know you have a pre-planned vacation and give them the exact dates you'll need off :) Since this was booked prior to you starting, there won't be any issues with it (and you're letting them know over a month in advance, which is best practice!)

Yes! You can either stop in person, or give them a call and ask to speak to the hiring manager. If they aren’t in when you call, ask when they’ll be available next and either call / go in during that time.
If I choose to work part-time 5 hours a day, only on Fri, Sat, and Sundays. Will the manager accept my schedule? lol. I'm reading their description and it says, "weekend availability" I'm not sure if they are saying, "workweeks plus weekend or just the weekends"
Absolutely!! If anything they probably desperately need people on the weekends 😂 Just talk to your manager and be upfront about your availability! There’s always room to work it out :)
