- After driving it for a week straight, I share my experience with my E46 M3 so far. Not off to a great start - but there is hope once I begin modifying it. I also give an update on manufacturing our own hoses and the Hunter mounting/balancing setup I'll have in the Yarn Building.

Rasp aside that E46 M3 you have Matt is a stunning car. I think we will learn a lot as you chase "the rasp". Similar to the GT3 RS exhaust chase.

This is one of my favorite M3 the E46, I lusted after one but never own one. But I did own a 323Ci E46. I can't wait until it's dailed in.

last week I went and looked at a Challenger Scat Pack. It was Indigo Blue, I didn't like the color. The previous owner did some hack work on it. I am kind of torn between a Challenger and Camaro. Challenger I want will have to be 2015 or newer or the Camaro needs to be 2015 or older. The chase for me is something that I can take to the drag strip, to a road course or just a straight up road trip. As far as glass coatings, I have used GTechniq's. I found value in it, I live in the midwest. It keeps snow and ice from sticking and minimizes wiper usage. Your the only import guy that I follow.

Hey Matt I using BrakeBuster on my tips and I clean them with your EZ Clean small brush. Works beautifully every time.
Ive been using Mckees sio2 RW on my tips, 2 Kirkland towels. One to clean, 2nd to dry. As long as i keep up on them it works perfectly.

yesterday I washed my m3 e46 2004 after 6 months in the garage !!! Loll yours look clean 🤓
I had a Carbon Black E46 from 2004 to 2009... Borla exhaust and Bilstein PSS9 made the car just right for me. Enjoy Matt! It took my GT350R to stop missing my E46 M3... but then again I'm not a fan of forced induction.
One thing that may bring you some comfort about the exhaust, when guys s54 swap e36s or e30s the rasp tends to go away. Hopefully you can find the header/exhaust combo that eliminates it on the e46

I love SEEING E46 M3s same thing with E30 M3s(little too old for me) I don’t see myself owning any of these 2 M cars but once again, love the way they look; two of best looking M cars ever produced
I would always have an E36 M3 nd E92 M3, something is different about these 2 cars.. feels like there’s a cult following E36 M3s and I was lucky enough to buy another Alpine White E36 M3

Of all the things Matt discusses here, the P21S is the thing that grabs my attention the most. Never knew that such a product existed, and I have 3 trucks with stainless tips that never stay where they should. Have to get some, now.
It's super old school. It's great for regular maintenance on exhaust tips.
It's really nice to know somebody who shares the same hate for printers as I do, they just never work perfectly.
Hey Matt, in order to get rid of the rasp, you need to modify not only the section 1 but the section 2.
I ran a single resonated ar20 section 1 and a supersprint section 2 with a super sprint race section 3 and I had no rasp whatsoever. I have a cold start video on CZcams if you want to hear.

I feel like a Dinan S3-R would be better suited for you. I hope once you mod this car you’ll grow to like it more. A maxpsi turbo kit would be pretty sweet too.
How do you keep your cobra-jet hose so nicely coiled up? I couldnt get mine to wrap up in a coil like that if my life depended on it haha!
Ha, ha... You've got to work for it. It's helpful to twist the coil you are making the opposite direction while fighting it. I'll make sure to share how I do it on the next wash and talk.
IMO the E46 M3 is the best car ever made by BMW~
Even in video you can see just how much more water this machine moves than a K1700. Incredible. One day!!
Just an amazing M3, the white was a great choice but i have a question to ask the hex community. Am I the only crazy one that prefers the 330ci headlight design over the M3?
The 330ci headlights on facelift models are superior in light output and adaptive lighting but those 330ci headlights have terribly then wiring inside that will drive you crazy lol

@@Jeeper1378 yep. One case of the delta variant sent us into lockdown, but the next day we had 10 cases so was probably a smart idea because now it’s only going to get worse

Those are some fighting words for some about the e46, but couldn't agree more, the noise of the e46 is the worse. So excited for this build as Matt will do it justice.
I mean this in a completely non-judgey way I promise. What are your thoughts of staying in your current house? I know it's not super huge and mega glamourous for you but it could be way easier to complete projects because the scale isn't as huge. Just wondering.
My guess is that we will be there another two years. I'm starting to work on getting some land. Then I'll hire an architect to begin working on the design. The plan is to stay here comfortably while building something. I'm just not in a rush.

“AL” stands for “Automotine Lighting”. The first versions of E46 M3s had the BOSCH logo. But after 2004 Bosch bought this company for production of headlights and taillights. So it’s rebranded Bosch. Also to inform you that BMW can supply you the front glass plastic of the head light if it fades sometime so not to change the whole unit. Keep up the good work!!
You need to prep your bottle just like the car. Spray it with your ammonia free glass cleaner and wipe it dry before you stick the label. There may be residue from production.
Matt, once you have a e46 M exhaust or wheels you want to sell let me know ill swing by and scoop one up. Im sure after the testing there will be a few :)
Does Matt rinse out the door jambs or does rinsing the outside get the jambs?
Rinsing get's it 90% of the way there without opening the door.

I just washed my car indoors, in the AC for the first time. Fantastic. I need a drain solution so I don’t have to sweep out the water when i am done.

Out of the box, he's not wrong. The stock USDM headers and catback are awful. It's a metal tinny chainsaw. Headers, rasp pipe, a correct section 2, and rear muffler changes the sound more than any other vehicle on the road, it's night and day. Audio solved. As far as not wanting to rev out? Once you go carbon airbox, cams, etc then it totally changes.

It takes a special woman to be able to handle crazy. I bought an A3 last year and found out we were having our first grandkid, so I wanted to get a bigger vehicle. Took me 8 months to convince my wife we needed a Cayenne. Finally got it, but she won't even look at another car for a minimum of 2 years. Hats off to Michelle! :)

At the EAG price point, I would expect a full detail.
They do a decent detailing job, but not at the level I want. The great thing about EAG is they get me 90% of the way there. I take it the last 10%. They problem is that last 10% costs way too much money for EAG to survive.

I'm a simple guy. Passive marketable security investment is not the way to get rich, so I spend as close to zero time as possible on them. They simply aid in compounding your assets over time. I max out our 401(k), $19,500 for me and $19,500 for Michele. + 3% match ($1170 total). I have an IRA and Roth IRA and Michele has one of each too. Then we have one brokerage account. The IRAs and Brokerage are managed by Kevin Barry at Merrill Lynch in Orlando. I have zero input outside of my chosen risk tolerance. IRAs are aggressive (100% equity) and my brokerage is moderate (60/40%) where he has discretion to invest in what is appropriate. I don't own any individual stock. I set-up a Coinbase Pro account and bought $25K of ETH and BTC. I have no interest in the speculative element of it. It is just an attempt to understand and stay relevant.

Here’s my honest opinion on the E46 m3. If there is a car that I would like to buy a better example than the one I have it’s the E46 m3, and getting one of EAG would be the ultimate experience. Now it’s not perfect, first of all I would change the OEM seats, put the eventuri air intake and tune from ecuworx (uk) , change the exhaust just for weight savings because I don’t mind the rasp, and other than that probably pilot 4s tires and that’s it. The E46 m3 it’s not boring you just need to work for your experience.

This car is made for 10/10th’s, a** out, heal-toe driving on back mountain roads full of tight corners. U live in GT Country, Matty. Flat, straight, boring roads in FL. Of course it doesn’t make sense to you- not yet anyways. This car doesn’t thrive in straight line performance and it can actually be a little frustrating to drive at slow speeds. No one is arguing that. When you have guys like Catchpole praising the chassis and calling the S54 engine “amazing” and saying, “this side of a McLaren F1, I’m not sure there’s anything that sounds better.” Yes, I know he was reviewing CSL- more on that later. Cammisa, recently, calling the E46 M3 “Perfect” and “Peak M3.” And then, of course, the greatest automotive journalist of our era, Chris Harris, back in 2012 making the case for the E46 M3 being the greatest sports car of all time… yeah… somethings flying over your head, Matty. Bovingdon did a great review at the end of E2 of Petrolhead Planet as well calling the motor one of the greatest of all time, praising the chassis and steering (I know, CSL again, but truth be told, it’s not that hard to get these cars to CSL spec and ZCP comes w CSL rack- which is an important piece of the puzzle. And of course we all know stock E46 needs an airbox). Old Top Gears, Tiff Needell… the list goes on. S.6 E66, Ignition on MT, Carlos Lago did a vid on all the M3’s- he’s gone on record as saying E46 M3 is the best M3. Angus Mack as well. The names I just listed are Auto Journalist Gods! You’re obviously missing on this one, Matt. Figure it out. And I think you will. We’re pulling for u! You bring us great content. I genuinely WANT you to enjoy your E46 like I do mine! It’s been repeated ad nauseam… general consensus is that the chassis, steering, engine response are otherworldly! Explore your E46! Otherwise, you’re Not gonna get it. This car takes some learnin! That’s all part of the fun.
