    I have gone up the Kebnekaise on snow shoes as part of a trek along the Kungsleden! No helicopter involved, only a short ride on snowmobiles and huskies to draw the pulkas with food and equipment. It was an amazing trip, we even saw the Northern lights.

    Sorry but using the helicopter for skipping 19k to Kebnekaise mountain station and 2-3 h walk uphill to tarfalastugan is definitely not the most climate friendly approach to Kebnekaise.

      semi aventureiros Hi! Absolutely! Contact Svenska turistföreningen, www.swedishtouristassociation.com, email info@stfturist.se They are a private organisation taking care of many cabins, youth hostels and trekking in both wild parts of Sweden as well as in the archipelago and in towns and cities. Up at Kebnekaise they have a big and very nice log cabin type of hotel where you can stay. However, you need to contact them well in advance if you want a room. Sleeping in a tent nearby though is no problem although that also costs money if you want to use the facilities of the station. Hope you have a nice stay!

      @@filipehenry4340 Hi! Well, you need always to check the weather. Even in high summer it can change quickly from warm and calm to full storm. As to the terrain itself, it is high mountains so you need to know what you are doing and be experienced enough to meet your challange. So you need to bring the proper gear for the season.
      As far as I know there are guided tours but you need to check with the staff. The easiest way is to contact them on email, info@stfturist.se
      Good luck!

    TNF says about carbon footprint travelling by engin and in the same moment show us car and helicopter frames. Ok. What do you offer instead of car or planes? How we can get to start point of our journey?

    Given that that 2 metric tons co2 calculation is correct... How much did you save from NOT flying those people up to Kebnekaise in helicopter? I think a company like #northface should not brave yourself of being sustainable, conscious and all that as long as you actually promote helicopter tourism in some of your other films....

      daconicon There is always someone that has to cry about something. Sell your car and dont ride buses if you dont own a car then. And god forbid if you fly somewhere for a vacation.

    • @thedavidbrother2
      @thedavidbrother2 Před 4 lety +1

      @@SwedeenXBL It's a bit hard to sell your car if you don't own one. That's called a scam;) I think this video is excellent, but I can't trust this company overall, since they are promoting mindless "helicopter-sports" in other videos.
