  • Three wheel motorcycles were originally developed to provide additional stability for those who don't want to give up on the biking passion and switch to more conventional means of transportation. As years were passing, the engineering approaches towards producing three-wheeers were going through various changes and improvements. Today we can see such innovative features being added to this type of urban commuting vehicles:
    - closed-over designs with roofs (similar to that of tiny Twizy car and some scooter models);
    - battery-electric powertrains that made these vehicles more powerful, silent and suitable for use in zero emissions city zones;
    - cambering wheel geometry that allows the trike to lean into corners with ease and at higher speeds compared to regular two-wheelers.
    We regularly monitor the latest charges in the world of battery electric vehicles, the results of our research is gathered in this playlist: • Electric motorcycles, ...
    In 2021, when the field of personal urban transportation vehicles is growing rapidly, it was only a matter of time for the tilting design to be introduced to ebikes, reverse trikes and 3-wheel scooters. This novel technology is here to make us have more fun maneuvering the city streets, while running errands, going to work or covering daily commutes.
    In this video we have featured most of the already existing trike models, as well as EVs that manufacturers are hoping to bring in 2022. We showcased the most important tech specifications, estimated prices and other useful features that these transportation inventions have to offer.

    Nimbus Halo trike make sense. It is just a gold middle between car and scooter for one person. It is what I need if I do not want to be exposed to an uncomfortable environment and a car is not an option.

    Trisbike seems to be the only economical, non-rich man’s toy bike. But it’s underpowered and lacks range.
    A little digging and I see it is Italian made and has distributors in Europe only. Figures.

    Ziti as you're showing it has a very unstable front end watching the video you notice alignment of the wheels are not perfectly in sync sensor separate Forks and the tuna lime it's not true you're going to see a lot of wrecks when it's kids out and turns at highway speeds they're dead

    Some of these may attract the transport regulator... Hence, license and insurance fees... I had to park my Piaggio trike (MP3-500) that was used 4 months of the year. @ $500 per month in insurance fees! ($2000/year-)! Appears to need pedals (at least for show) to justify the no need for insurance.

    They either have limited range or limited speed. A very strange predicament. When do you think they will build one that can go over 300 miles / 400 km on a single charge?

    • @Datacube
      @Datacube  Před rokem +1

      Hello, thanks for your feedback. The 300-mile range would require a major breakthrough in battery technology. Still, I don't think that a 300-mile range is something that manufacturers would be aiming for nowadays (most ICE bikes today cover 150-200 miles on a full tank)

      I’ve never seen one like that from China, seen many single front wheel tilting trikes from China. Most of their 3wheel truck, utility and taxi models are definitely Chinese with maybe a couple component upgrades, just not sure on that 2 wheel in front tilting. Love to see a link to a Chinese one.

    just sell conversion kits! it's like putting training wheels on 2wheels. many bike riders simply don't want to use their legs to balance stand their 2wheels.

  • @vitabricksnailslime8273

    I see lots of unique parts which will probably be really difficult to service, or to obtain in any time frame. I see lots of half baked ideas which will translate to dangerous handling at higher speeds or on poorer roads. I see marketing directed towards "freedom and fun", which translates as irresponsible road use. Not that I'm anti-fun. But I just don't foresee a lot of tolerance being extended to lane splitting people who swerve continuously so as to position themselves for their next impulsive move. "Don't need a helmet" because you have a flimsy roof over your head. If you say so. I foresee lots of these things clogging up garages with other disposable consumer items within a few years. I foresee a great future for those capable of repairing them efficiently.

    Reality Check: This should run about $1,699.00 (USD) brand new - maybe $1,999.00 (USD) tops. It's not a car. My car runs like a top in all weather. It will go thousands of miles at the drop of a hat. It was designed from the factory to carry a 3,500 payload. It is a very roomy small SUV model. It is worth about $3,500. No small personal electric vehicle does what this car does. If they want to sell these, they need to price them more sanely.

    Tricycles are at the top of human stupidity. Do you want ALL the NEGATIVES of being unprotected on an open air vehicle such as a motorcycle, but ALSO have ALL of NEGATIVES of a car such as no maneuverability and compact narrowness so you can't get through trees or tight spaces like a car? Do you want to look like a MORON on a glorified mobility scooter? Get a tricycle!
    They are worse than both cars and motorcycles with all the negatives and NO BENEFITS.
