Nice video! Always a blast to watch you guys out there. Some nice catches! Good job!
Appreciate it! It’s been tough fishing, like it always is this time of year, so we are happy when the rod bends. Tight lines 🎣❤️

Cameraman Julie you are pretty good. I think you can give Brent a run for his money. I hope your foot is feeling better. Keep on catching em.
Brent definitely has the job with the camera! I just edit the videos and try to catch fish.
We both appreciate your comments and taking the time to watch❤️🎣

Good video y’all
Thanks Doug! 🎣❤️
Havent seen people use regular bait casters in the salt. now i gotta bring that also in may. haha
You definitely can use a bait caster here. They’re great inshore.
Thanks for watching and we hope you slay the fish here in a couple of months!❤️🎣
@@reelcoastal i have wanted to get down there for way too long. first my business wouldnt let me go, then covid, no i have congestive heart failure, its not that bad but shit always gets in the way. gonna hit some of the places you have shown. just me, i am a huge freshwater guy but this will be my first time with salt.
You are going to love the area and the fishing! You definitely need to check out Ft. Pickens for the history, the National Sea Shore for the beauty and try some local restaurants for the fresh seafood. Grab a Bushwacker while you’re enjoying yourself. You can message us through facebook if you have any questions. Reel Coastal Fishing on that platform. Have a wonderful night🥰
I would not be comfortable there without a PFD on.
Thank you for taking the time to watch! I think the platform looks smaller than it is on camera. Tight lines 🎣❤️
That looks like an awesome good time! How deep is the water under those bridges? ❤
Thanks for watching and commenting! It ranges depending on where we’re at. It goes from really shallow to 20 ft in the middle. Tight lines❤🎣
Thanks so much I appreciate ❤️🙏
You are very welcome!
Who tied that knot 😮
Ummm..🤔 😂
Have that red a headache
He still swam away strong. Thanks Doug 😁
Have you tried crabbing.
Yes, we have a video on a blue crab catch and cook. I like to use them as bait for reds! Thanks for watching ❤️🎣
Great video as always Brent and Julie!! I have a debate and I want opinions with no hard feelings as it is all in fun and learning (which I have a LOT to learn). In the scene where Julie lost her fish do we think that was knot failure and that was the reason for the lost fish or was it a mishap on the fishing reel that caused the knot to fail? Obviously the knot did fail but it looks like at the same time Julie grabbed up at the spool to pull the fish which then locks the drag and put too much pressure on the knot.
I ask this because I have been trying to analyze some of my fishing and I have a habit of doing exactly that when I am trying to power a fish over the bar on the beach and have snapped my line on more than one occasion. Is this proper technique and the signs of a bad knot on my part or is it mishandling the reel. Or am I just over thinking like normal? Lol
Thanks for watching! I do use my hand in certain situations to slow down the drag when a fish is running. I’m not locking it into place, just light pressure. I primarily will do this when the fish can easily get into structure, which of course will break the line anyways. I’ve never had any issues with this method, so I still believe it was a simple knot failure. But that being said, I definitely could be wrong😂
For surf fishing, I do not use that method. There is no structure to contend with here, so let them run. When you feel that it is appropriate, then tighten down your line manually to work the fish in. As the fish tires itself out, you can increase that line tension to bring it onto the beach. Hope that all makes sense! Definitely don’t over think fishing, just enjoy each day. We all are learning as we go in hopes of becoming better fishermen than we were yesterday ❤️🎣
@@reelcoastal that is a great response and I agree I think we can blame the knot and move on! :) If it was my knot you would have lost it before you actually got to see the fish :p
I hope not Neal! There’s so many good knot tying videos out there to learn from. We definitely have watched a few dozen. 🤣 Hope you get in some fish with this beautiful weather we’re having!💙
@@reelcoastal that is the problem! There are too many good knot videos and I never know which to use :) Unfortunately I haven't been out in months it seems. Hurt my back and now that it is getting better work travel is picking up :p Hoping to maybe sneak out this weekend.
@NealLauderman sorry to hear about your back! I hope you can dodge the rain and get on a few🎣❤️
