  • Today 24P digital imaging is the accepted medium for everything from wedding videos to major motion pictures. (25P in Europe) Before 2001, there was the desired "look" of motion picture film and the “live TV look" of interlaced video. This video describes the pioneering role of Przyborski Productions in video cameras that emulate the look & feel of film.
In the late 80’s, we put together a group of engineers to work on this concept. At that time, none of us could imagine the impact it would have in commercial production. Our initial prototype was limited to B&W standard definition. We were awarded U.S. Patents 5,475,425 and 5,831,673 which are licensed to Sony, Panasonic, Canon, and others.
(Please note that this video was shot & edited in standard definition. It was copied from the Digital Betacam master then upsampled to 1080P using a Teranex standards convertor which also removes 3-2 pulldown.)

This is incredible, Glenn! I had no idea you were the pioneer in the 24p video movement!
Been following you on Vimeo for years. Glad to see you’re on CZcams now.

Thanks for the kind comments. Without question, CZcams has 1000 times more viewers that Vimeo. The problem that I've always had with CZcams is that "demo reels" are often flagged by CZcams for music copyright. Technically, I don't have use of the copyright for the music that the client licenses for the commercial when it runs on-air. I have no interest or desire to monetize any of my uploads, but I also have no interest responding to challenges. This happened several years ago with a commercial I directed and photographed for Alcoa. Alcoa sidings are colored aluminum siding panels that attach to and beautify certain homes. The client licensed a Louis Armstrong original song and it was flagged when the commercial was included on one of my reels. FYI This never happens with Vimeo.

This is really neat! Was this shot on a DVX?
