  • This is a video for the trouble code P1345 (cam shaft to crankshaft correlation issue). When you have this code you need a scan tool that will show you the CMP (camshaft) RETARD ° reading. You need to be able to see this reading in order to set it at 0 + or - 2 degrees.
    MAKE SURE ONCE YOU CHANGE THE DISTRIBUTOR POSITION, YOU REV THE ENGINE UP PAST 1000 RPM IN ORDER FOR THE READING TO REPOPULATE.

    What happens when the computer correlation says -0.6 degree but still runs rough and gives p1345 time correlation code?

    I got this code in my 99 suburban, and my suburban runs fantastic! I don't have any issues whatsoever, so I'm really at a loss to figure out why I need to get in there and change this just because I'm throwing a code . Any comments?

    That older Chevy V8 engine uses the same protocol as my LS1 engine (SAE J1850 VPW) & I've been having trouble finding a scanner that scans it as they have only read the CAN OBD2 system.
    Has anyone got an idea what scanner I should order next for my car if the Nexpeak I've ordered so doesn't work ?

    I have an innova scanner and on live data all i can find is spark advance showing a -20. I tried fixing it by dropping in distributor with harmonic balancer set before tdc and changed from neg 20 to neg 30. So i did it again with harmonic balancer past tdc and then it wouldn't start. So i set everything back to where i had it before and truck cranks right up but i still have neg 20 spark advance

      @SkyhookStudios  Před 4 lety +2

      The spark advance reading is what the computer is trying to do as electronic advance. Try looking at the other PID lists for the retard reading.

    You will get as much as 25 degrees out reading from the common problem of the distributor gear being worn. Also, some new distributors came with Gears put on 180 degrees out because they were assembled wrong in ...China? You can move the gear as it has a slot pin.

    Yeah..... trying to get that distributor back in and on the oil pump drive after you rotate it is a pain in the butt.

    it should have a different hold down bracket. it can be adjusted to align cap n rotor. I own one been through it.

    • @SkyhookStudios
      @SkyhookStudios  Před 4 lety +1

      The hold down bracket and distributor are squared to prevent the distributor from turning. GM did not intend for it to be adjustable. With advances in electronic ignition timing, adjustable distributors went by the wayside. Then gone entirely shortly thereafter.

    Can the p1345 code cause stalling at idle on 99 Yukon. Thats the only code I have. But once started it runs for about 5 secs. the dies. Can barely give it gas if at all.

    • @SkyhookStudios
      @SkyhookStudios  Před 5 lety +1

      No, that code is a running code. The 5 seconds then dies might be a fuel issue. If you removed the distributor, check that you have oil pressure. If the computer doesn't see oil pressure, you will only get a few seconds of run time before dieing.
