A dirty trick to me would be using something the game devs did not intend on being used to defeat a boss. I've used the magic of 3rd person to fire shots at bosses from behind cover & out of their line of sight for example. In the old Armored Core games, you could build a really fast mech, enter the arena and keep running until the other mech ran out of ammo. Then bash the top contenders while they couldn't shoot back. It wasn't uncommon to have a friend driving backward on Mario Kart just to ram head-on into AI drivers to slow them down.

There are a couple of other "bosses" (i.e. larger tougher enemies acting as roadblocks basically) you can cheese too in that game. It's such an open game that anything goes, it's cool like that.
Beneath the Pawn Guild, on a large spiral staircase, you'll have to contend with an Ogre, and it's a huge pain in the ass to fight, so the best way to deal with it is bait it into charging at you, and it'll go flying into the pit and die instantly. Sometimes it'll miss a regular attack and fall in there on its own. The bottom is your destination anyway in that quest so you can collect all the drops too.
On BBI the Goreclops or whatever its name is, enormous hooded thing, is OP as all hell even if it's New Game +, so a common tactic you'll see people say to use is to hide in one of the alcoves, or high up in that room, and spend an hour shooting it. Or use Throwblasts.

By using one of these “dirty tricks” against “The End” boss on MGS 3 you’d be doing yourself a major disservice as “The End” is probably THE BEST boss battle in THE BEST Metal Gear Solid Game. So satisfying, so perfect 👌🏿. That old man can MOVE btw.

I thought this was like when you use electrobullets on Big Daddies in Bioshock, it stuns him making him really easy to beat. Not really just what the games were designed to do....

Gears of War 3 insane difficulty. Queen Myrrha boss fight. If you sit inside the elevator as cover you wont get melted from her beam and a majority of enemies wont target you. Once you stun her, rush to gather Hammer of Dawn ammo andblast her while moving back to the elevator.

dragon's dogma: dark arisen's final boss, both fights, you can literally beat by switching to assassin or any bow-related class and by firing countless amounts of blast arrows at his chest. Daimon(the final boss)gets stunned back-to-back each time you hit him with it. he's supposed to have several phases to him and can do quite a bit of damage to you; there's two fights with him as well but the last fight should be the most difficult one. however, when you decide to make use of said "blast arrows", these fights can be finished within literally 10 seconds.

The End??? Yeah I always made him frustrated by killing his bird.
it was a lot easier taking him down after that... plus I felt like cheesing it by killing him earlier or setting the timer to a week later, was kinda cheating.
So yeah, blame me if you'd like. But I always shot the bird (and BTW, it was very tasty. Snake told me so himself)

Fight 6 was such a huge deal back in the day. When the game first came out we didn't have Google to search for a solution. When a friend said to change controller ports you laughed....then tried it. Was insane back then, not to mention reading your memory card

4:27 speaking of Metal Gear Solid I’m playing Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain. Still debating how Tretij would react to guns in his face if we were capturing him instead of Quiet. Wouldn’t want it changed tho bc Quiet is cute, being the clingy, overprotective little sister type (in a different way than Nezuko to Tanjiro).
