- Bob Jones of Alaska demonstrates the short take-off and landing capabilities of his Zenair STOL CH701 light sport utility aircraft, on skis. This video was taken while testing micro vortex generators (VGs) on the bottom side of the elevator (horizontal tail), demonstrating the outstanding slow flight characteristics of the two-seat aircraft, equipped with a 100-hp Rotax 912 ULS engine.

I have to revisit this video every once in a while. Probably my favorite 701 vid. It shows one of the many things a 701 does well. A simple, light no frills 701 is still my dream airplane.
It looks like this rugged STOL-plane fits practically every terrain and climate!
Exceptional piloting in an outstanding design!
Amazing!
Ekcellent flying!

Is that the slats that allow him to maintain that angle of attack?
