If you look closely you can find the reason why this fan is so powerfull: The Impeller has a hub that changes from a small diameter in the front to a larger diameter in the back. That also changes the height of the blades from large in the front to small in the back and that design compresses the air like a compressor would do so the impeller is basicly a mixed flow compressor and if it would rotate that fast as a centrifugal compressor would do it would produce alot of air!
I used to work in a factory that made fans for military and passenger aircrafts among other things. The design was similar to that but way more powerful. It was also a ducted fan but the inner diameter of the duct and was much closer to the diameter of the blades making it more efficient. The motor was a 3-phase, 400 Hz, 3-pole, squirrel cage engine that was crazy powerful. At the time I used to say that most people didn't know that for the same space and weigh, an electric engine could be more powerful than a gas engine and that if an automaker decided to put something like that in car it would be a game changer. Eventually we got Tesla.
