    Hey I’m an 18 yo track runner and I can run sub 5 in the mile pretty easily and hope I can run sub 1:55 in the 800 this year but during a long run when I was trying to hit 6:30 pace after two miles in the 8s and starting to get into pace and after two miles in the 6s my legs felt dead in my quads. I know I haven’t been getting enough sleep but I don’t think that’s all of it because I’ve run without enough sleep before and been able to keep that. My form is pretty good the only thing form wise I could think is wrong is foot strength since I had an ingrown toe nail at one point so I avoided running on my big toe and I may be doing that still without realizing it. Do you have any advice? It’s very frustrating training hard and getting lots of easy miles to run fast but when I try to run fast my legs not wanting to work.

    press up your body weight? as in bench or overhead?

      Just be able to do 10-20 press ups (bodyweight)

    I've been experiencing this since a couple years into my 30s. I dont understand , it never used to happen. I think rear in general,doesnt even have to be sleep tends to help but kind of hard in this day in age with so much to do. That or not eating so much In the day seems to work.

      Few things that spring to mind, hows your nutrition and how much training are you doing right now? Is there a lot of stress?

      Run a blod test and check your kidneys

      There are exercises you can do to strengthen the foot but a good place to start is the running shoes you are wearing. We made a video about it here. czcams.com/video/kpTMuIfVdX4/video.html

      Not recommended, when you have some food you have more energy to run at higher intensities. But it doesn't need to be a full meal either. Try having a banana and see if you need more.
