When we got the first chicks this year it was still cold so we had to put a heat lamp on them for the first maybe 4 weeks.
The chickens bring lots of entertainment to the garden and make great compost for the garden as well as eat plenty of kitchen scraps so I don't feel as bad when something goes past it's peak yumminess.
These are not monthly expenses.
This month I spent $123.44 on my chickens and quails. I have 7 chickens, only 3 are laying. We have 8 chicks, and 9 quail. All my quail are currently laying.
