- hi guys, here's my much awaited review of the New 2023 Yamaha R15M with color TFT console. I give you a walkthrough of the User Interface of the New Console and also share what else is new in this updated new model.

You know what's missing? An R1 engine. Plonk an R1 engine on this one and boy, this thing sounds like a mini R1, is bang on the money! :)
For that it would need twin cylinder
This design and chassis needs urgently a 300cc engine ... The r3 engine. R15 is good with the vva tech it can keep one entertained but u get used to the power and it becomes boring. What keeps u engaged is the excellent handling and riding posture. But Yamaha needs to up the engine capacity. We don't get the R25, nor the r3 ... No r6 ... R7 and even the r1 ... Which is a shame really

that makes it an r1 which we already have.

This variant is 1 kg lighter at 141 kg. Slightest improvement in acceleration perhaps but V4 is still a weak performer in the low/mid rpm which is where I need the power most of the time. Doesn't have exciti performance anymore. My 11k done R15 monster is on sale now because of its underpowered engine.

*Traction control for a 18bhp ? when is wheelie control & cruse control coming ? at-least they could launch an 250cc bike or turn that underrated MT to an ADV bike for off road which will sell like hot cakes as adv's are in big demand nowadays. when R3 was launched people ignored it due to price hence Yamaha India discontinued all future models for Indian market. so now updating a decade old bike with lipstick and make up job up for that only selling bike to keep its business alive * that's how marketing strategy works in real world situations
No point in discussing or commenting. In my opinion why good internationally aclaimed products are not launched in India because of the sky high tax and excise duties in India. Even if the manufacturer try to setup facilities for production of high capacity performance oriented bikes the general public is very conservative. They will require 200 bhp and 100 kmpl for litre class machines and above all the cost should be less than 2 lakh rupees. So in all ways our market and government is always fucked up and will always be.

Dino anna, do we get backache over years on these sportier R15/RC200 etc even if one rides with good riding stance/posture? (I have heard most of d dealers saying this esp. with latest Rc200/390/R15M)
I've been driving the R15, which has the most aggressive posture of the bikes that you mentioned, for several months now and I can confirm that you won't get back pain even after riding for over an hour if you have the correct posture. It's just a joy to be more connected to the bike by leaning forward, you feel more in control of the bike when cornering.
If ur age is more than 35 plus better avoid it .. if ur in mid 20s yes u can g ahead for this bike practically … but remember this bike is specifically for solo …
i have original r15. 2007 model. even the service centre guys say that's the best r15. they are absolutely bulletproof. still have fun on it after 1.5 lakh km.

In engine it's written 850ml. In user manual it's 1000ml..!!!

Almost everything is perfect in this model but this bike is well suited for the Youths. So Yamaha should consider to manufacture another version with same specs, features, technology but with different two design language at least. One is for the middle aged family man ( like that of Honda Unicorn) and another for the off road capability ( Like Honda XL).

Idk why people are complaining about the cost. Please show me another sports bike with such amazing features, mileage, performance at this price range. There might be other naked bikes, commuter bikes cheaper than this, but in sports segment this was and is the king.

R15 needs few more updates like- more power & torque, backlit switch in handle bar 😁
It's not torquey and powerful anymore which is sad. The TCS cuts power a lot too which is why acceleration is kinda weak. My 11k done R15M rarely impresses me on the engine performance front. Dyno tests confirm these also. Power and torque are found to be lower than the claimed specifications (18.4 PS, 14.2nm)
V3 BS4 and BS6 dyno results agree with claimed specs from Yamaha but V4 is surprisingly underpowered.
@@rommelsailo yeah that's true v4 feels low power. But Dino sir said that pick up has increased in this new model. I hope that is true 😃
R15m is fastest 150cc the only problem on yours is the emission it limits the power
In Indonesia it has 19.3 hp and 14.7nm torque I've been using it very Good Pickup and Power doesn't have too much limit and restrictions unlike your emissions there
In traction control you can Turn it off if you wanted speed there is an option of it
@@rommelsailo its your emissions and restrictions fault, don't blame the bike, r15m already has highest hp and torque on 150cc this current market
In Indonesia variant has less restrictions it has 19.3hp and 14.7nm I've been using it.

Should have radially mounted 4p Break front Caliper
This, the stock brakes are weak and the intrusive ABS is a major hindrance. I bypassed the front brake ABS completely and run a teflon brake hose straight from the master cylinder to the callipers

I’m also thinking about this, let me know if you find out. A showroom guy said it’s definitely possible , but maybe that’s because he wants to clear the old stock. The older one has a tiny bit more bhp though

Everything is okay but at this price point Yamaha should work on those back side fenders which breaks easily!!!!! The concept for aerodynamic Design is cool but the quality is disappointing at this price range!!!!!

When will Yamaha bring some higher capacity motorcycles like the Mt07, Mt09, Tenere 700 for adveture enthusiasts, etc..... which will be very suitable and fun for Indian market. Always sticking with low capacity and less enjoyable motorcycles - Yamaha India. Kawasaki has got the full suite in India with ultra competitive pricing, Honda is trying to bring many of their international portfolio bikes through big wing.

Go for it,you will love it.I have it for 3 months,i am very happy, my top speed 122 kmh still it was very smooth,i did long journey for 4000 km (up down) continiued Cruising at 100 to 110 ,didn't have a single problem, it's a head Turner whenever you go, it has everything, performance specially after VVA + mileage+ comfort+ looks,smoothnes.i hope this will help.
