  • #bikepacking #Ortlieb #saddlebag After having the Ortlieb 11 litre saddle bag for a couple of years for Bike packing I wanted to share my thoughts on the quality and practicality of using. The ortlieb bag offers a trouble free way of storing more items on the bike whilst keeping things dry.

Why so many dislikes? This is a perfectly fine, real-world review.

Waynos, cannot thank you enough. Through process of elimination, two choices remain for a seat-bag. Your video review has all but made the decision for me. My main concern was stability on the bike and sway of the component. I like the idea of having the extra strap. Not only for further securing, but also for perhaps snugging something under it, such be the case of more cargo. Would you say that it is rather easy to disassemble?, and without too much hassle, un-attach and re-attach, once at camp? I think you mention this, but just want to be clear. Thanks for helping me make the decision. Happy Trails!

It is very easy to attach and unattach. The only problem is packing and unpacking the bag. This takes the longest as you may need to unpack everything if it is at the bottom, then re-pack and compress the air out. This is the only main hassle. All the best with the bag, it is fantastic, waterproof and doesn’t sway with the extra strap which you can purchase with the bag. I also reverse the straps round the seat rails for more stability.

Hello, thanks for the review. I am about to buy one of thr Ortlieb seatpack. But i am not sure what will fits more for me the 11 or 16 liter. Isn't it better to buy the bigger one in all cases ? Hats the argument to buy the smaller one ? Thank you !

Ni Na Well can’t say, as I dont know what you intend to carry. The 11 litre is reasonable size, about the storage of a medium cycling backpack. The bigger Ortlieb is pretty big hanging out the back, so up to you what you think.
