The hardest part for me is promoting, I'm very low profile and shy so putting myself out there is soooo hard ( and I also hate short form content like reels and TikTok)

I’m a sophomore in highschool and I’ve been wanting to sell things and this video just gave me the confidence to ask my parents to let me start selling or at least setting up an Etsy account so thank you for all the advice, the fact that you started doing it at my age makes me feel a lot better

I honestly really needed this video and I think it was a sign that it popped up in my recommended :) I’ve been wanting to start up a business of my own and I’ve had so many family members and friends telling me I need to, but I was always so hesitant because I was afraid it just wouldn’t do well and it would be a waste of time. Like for me as a starter I want to make grannie square bedcovers/table covers etc so what kind of wool do you suggest? A very smart, and inspiring young lady. Love your video. I am a grandmother and have been crocheting for years but never really thought about selling it. I am just amazed at so many young people that are doing this. My daughter is helping me learn social media and I think I may just throw my hat in the ring and give it a shot. I have a lot more time now that I am retired. Keep shining girl you are doing GREAT!!

I ditto so many of the comments. I have been crocheting for 40 years. All 7 of my kids are grown and the grandkids are multiplying. So I spent the last year falling in love with yarn again. I discovered CZcams and have increased my knowledge and found what I enjoy making the most. I have sold a few things but not actually put anything out there. Among other things I learned there is more than one way to single crochet. I am ready to start putting my work out there. BUT I am terrified of social media. I haven't even been on anything except Messenger. But you inspired me so I am going to download the apps and look at it as a business opportunity. It might take me a minute to figure it out but I raised 7 children and we all made it out in the right number of pieces so I can handle learning how to navigate tiktok. Right?
I've been getting hung up on the details and haven't pulled the trigger on getting my shop up and this helped SO MUCH. You're so funny lol thanks for the video and real talk tips

Just put it out there! I put up 2 patterns on Etsy and haven’t sold a thing lol! But it was such an accomplishment just to put it out and now it’s only up from here 😊

I was only doing it for fun hiding my work thinking it wasn’t good enough until other people started seeing my work and placing orders. You should have your family and friends make the future purchases through etsy maybe in the future? Depending on how much commission they’re taking right now, having some confirmed sales on your page really could help other people make the decision to purchase and be like advertising!

I’ve been building my business ( off and on tbh) since Covid era and this year I’ve been really taking it seriously trying to make this my dream job and I swear the slow build to success is what gets me every time!!! Especially on Etsy. We in it for the long haul this year tho 🙌🏽🙌🏽
