  • Here's a review of Sightmark's Mini Green Dot Reflex Sight Model No. SM14011. I purchased this optic for use on a Midwest Industries SKS Mini Dot Mount for my Russian SKS. The mount is designed for use with the Burris Fastfire II or "clone". The Sightmark optic is a Burris Fastfire II clone and fits the MI mount perfectly.

How is the midwest mount holding up? any troubles?

The MWI mounts are solid. They do have little querks about them that can be bothersome, however. I have two of these mounts: One for my Russian SKS; the other for my Saiga AK47. As I mentioned in part 2 of my review, the MWI mount blocks the gas tube locking lever so removing the gas tube is a pain.

How durable is the sight itself? And what is the battery life like?

I wouldn't take it into battle but it seems durable enough for the weekend warrior. Dunno about the battery life because I returned it.

Waterproof/resistant is not rust proof/resistant--hence the desiccant.
