Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL - Over 40-minute gameplay

This video shows footage of a game from 2011 that's, beyond the shadow of a doubt, a copycat of Super Smash Bros.
While i don't consider this game to be bad, i do agree that it has several problems.
Probably the most frequent problem it has, is the overly-idiotic AI.
They use their upward signature moves every single time they get launched in the air, which often results in them going past the stage boundaries and KO-ing themselves.
Many people also dislike this game due to the fact that a majority of the characters don't have the same voice actors as they do in the TV shows they're from.
Also, i'll be playing through the game's arcade mode the next time i record it, and that playthrough will have commentary as well.
If you haven't seen the game before, then be prepared to see just how it rips off SSB.

Not really a rip off. None of the characters steal from the Smash cast and play totally different.
There are really only two on the nose comparisons and that's Captain Planet having Falcon knee, and Chowder having multiple jumps. Everything else is so generic that it's not even a rip off, it's just generic.
The problem with this game is similar to Melee, in that it has some clunky gameplay. I've never understood this criticism but I can see new players struggling with this a lot.
The next problem is how much you can get away with. Many multi-attack moves such as Flapjack's counter for example can be shielded miduse of the attack, essentially making Flapjack's counter useless. Many PTEs(Final Smashes) can be shielded immeadiately if your opponent is not careful and just whips the move out (which I honestly prefer). There wasn't much testing because the team was rushed to complete the game. Aku has a ridiculous laser attack that's almost if not exactly comes out in 1 frame when in air. Vilgax is supposed to be a slow but powerful character but he's faster than Flapjack, who is supposed to be a fast type character. There are many inconsistencies with gameplay just like Melee had Game and Watch's aerials coded as special moves and Luigi's dash attack not connecting on last hit.
If you like Melee and its little oddities, but consider it too hard to master then Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL is the game for you. It's like an alternate universe where Brawl was released in 2001 instead of Melee. It's not a bad game (although from a quality control standpoint it is), and even pretty fun when you've learned about these little oddities and what works, what doesn't. What matters most is how much fun you have, and I say if you really try to learn the game instead of brushing it off as a rip off you may be in for a treat.
This isn't Smash, that's a whole other ball game. This is Punch Time Explosion XL.
