Hello! My name is Seonyong Hwang and im learning the piano in korea.
Pieces of Alkan le preux are extremely difficult to play.
This piece required the most difficult technique ever.
I wanted to play with no mistake but it was almost impossible to me:(
Anyway, this is my first video, and I"ll soon upload another.

I can't believe how clean you managed to get this piece-it almost seems like Alkan designed it purposefully so that pianists for centuries to come were unable to play it, but you played it incredibly! If you can manage this piece, you deserve to be ranked among the top pianists of the world.

정말 경이로운 수준의 연주네요. 기사에튀드 정도면 그 난해하다는 알캉 곡 중에서도 손에 꼽히는 수준의 곡인데... 한국인이 이런 고퀄 연주를 선보인다는 게 자랑스럽습니다 ㅠㅠ 개인적으로 카키겐킨(Mr.barbaro)씨보다도 깔끔하게 치신 것 같아 굉장히 인상 깊게 봤습니다 :)

This is really clean, and at a great tempo, in my opinion. I disagree with Lewenthal, Alkan's tempos can sometimes be unrealistic. I don't think this is one of Alkan's strong pieces, but it's nice to hear such a nice performance of it. Keep up the great work!

But this piece has no tempo, at least saying in metronome marks, it just says "dans un bon mouvement", which to quote the awesome pianist arthur cimirro while he explained why alkan does not impress him, "does not mean presto"
Agree, not one of the best of alkan's works, but fine performance by such a young pianist. Great future ahead.

Extremely impressed. You manage to capture the essence of the brave knight in your performance whilst many people can just about only plat the notes. A very mature, expressive performance. Alkan would be proud... Bravo!
The last 55 seconds, the End with octaves in both hands, is my favorite part of this Alkan's piece. This end is very beautiful, is wonderful, is grandious!!! I Love it very very much. ❤❤❤

0:42: The ship starts shaking but it's fine, not like it's about to capsize
0:48: "Look at those beautiful whales swimming!" Said Alkan
1:38: The ship starts rumbling
1:55: "Attention all passengers, we will now be serving food! If you are hungry, order something at the cafe!" Alkan proceeds to order meat since the captain awakened him
2:10: "Your chicken will be ready in a few moments sir!" Said the waiter
2:28: Alkan looks through the window, seeing the ocean
3:12: "How dare you disturb my view!" said Alkan "Your chicken is ready sir!" said the waitress "Oh, sorry!"
3:24: Alkan keeps repeating "Are we there yet?"
3:44: "STOP SAYING "ARE WE THERE YET!"" said the man on front of Alkan
3:47: Alkan refuses to stop and proceeds to continue repeating
4:01: "Our ship will be arriving at the location in a few moments, please remain quiet!" said the captain
4:17: Alkan remains quiet
5:17: Alkan starts repeating "Are we there yet?" in his mind
5:56: "Our ship has arrived! Now isn't the fine time to get out!" Alkan refuses to listen and starts rushing towards the door

Honestly, the best cover of Le Preux, I know that there are some professional recordings, but I don't think they are as good as this one.

I was throughly and profoundly impressed, a sure subscriber, in awe of what I was seeing, but when you got to those final octaves words failed me entirely. What you’ve just shown is unreal, totally new to me, and I watch performances by Lisitsa, Lang Lang, Wang, Berezovsky & Trifonov. But that was new. God bless you sir.
The octave part was amazing, you were already playing for 6 minutes and you nailed that part. That's what I call Korean power 💪💪💪

기사에튀드는 알캉이 옥타브를 잘 활용한다는것을 보여주는 작품인거 같아요 ㅎㅎ.. 옥타브의 웅장하고 정형된 선율이 진짜 기사가 전장에서 치고박고 싸우는듯한 느낌으로 잘 승화시킨거 같아요 ㅎㅎ.. 그러다보니 저도 모르게 자꾸 1일 1기사에뛰뜨 하는거 같네요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 나중에 한번 실사 연주로 듣고싶네요..
