"if you are at this point of the video I'm so sorry" yeah me too
Not copying the Zilliax and removing a single 2/3 at 18:02 actually made me want to vomit
These plays man.... they hurt.
In regards to Whizbangs theme being goofy and unserious, One Night in Karazhan came out in 2016, less than two years after the game launched. This game has been goofy basically from the start.
Yeah, it's Hearthstone signature: goofy AND serious!
There was also Goblins vs Gnomes that wasn't very serious right at the start...
I'm not as invested in HS as I was in 2014-2016, but from my experience with this set a lot of cards from Titans and Showdown are actually the problem and not the cards in Whizbang. Like Flash of lightning was in Titans. lighting reflex was in Titans, sludge/excavate warlock was in showdown. The only problematic card I can remember from Whizbang is Wheel of Death. Sure Zilliax and Window Shopper were very good but I felt like meta was balanced enough. Unless I was playing against Nature Shaman, deck which is enabled by cards in Titans.
For instance when big balance patch was released I'm pretty sure like 7 nerfed cards were from Titans and 6 from Showdown. And much less from Whizbang.
So to summarize I think set is fine and has a lot of fun callbacks. Meta just suffers a little bit from previous expansions. Thanks for listening to me TED talk xdd.
i was so looking forward to hearthstone again when festival of legends was revealed bcus it looked like they were toning down a lot of the power creep that united in stormwind brought and then they released titans and it felt like a complete 180 and they just decided bump up the power creep even more instead
Yeah, over the years it's turned out the stronger the set the less fun it is.
Those stronger expansions also make future ones more miserable, especially if it's a weak expansion.

Reno decks are still meta tho
They are more combo than control nowdays, but still half control
The power level has been oppressive. So often losses and wins just feel one sided and decisive. Games are always ending in a single turn rn, it’s rough.
People love to say its just burn out but the game was changed fundamentally by stormwind and I don’t think it was in a good way.

The thing about the Workshop is exactly the “4 amazing expansions in a row and now a pretty average one”
Not only that, I believe some decks / archetypes in this current expansion are not fun at all and, it was, in my opinion, the worst / less exciting mini set ever.
Since the mini set release, this one was the first that I didn’t want to play any of the cards. Not only some cards where absolutely unplayable (the Druid one) but some of them where literally: “hey look at this broken and situational card have fun mana cheating / exploiting it”
And I miss Prince Renetal (don’t know the spelling to lazy to check)
Oh and also, I dislike this game when I
1- die to fast from hand
2- fewer sets available and yet, the games feels way too fast
The Rarran "try not to talk about CZcams Job or 'content' for one video" challenge (Impossible)
I watched... All of that.
I'm dead
Not duplicating ziliax then not using the buff jesus christ 😂😂😂
Boy i sure do love queuing into nothing but bots in the morning and nothing but handbuff paladins and control warriors in the evening
Always love to see you doing your best at trying to missplay every turn it's amazing
They sort of dug themselves into a corner by increasing the power level so highly. They cant really slow it down again, rastakhans rumble already proofed that.
3:00 for me the only deck i have liked playing with and against (agro DK) with so much decks playable from combo to control or handlock to midrange its been one of the most varied decks we have seen and all classes was balanced more then most sets we have every seen for the last long time
no decklist :((
When the expansion are powerful it makes me want to play the game, but only if the meta is board-centric. Decks that kill you from hand is just a hell to play againts becasue most of the time you cant even intereact with the opponent.
Bro take a nice long needed break xD But, it's super fun to watch. You're def. a top tier HS content creator. I dn't even play. But, you totally make it a vibe and easier to follow.
Its very interesting to see everyones opinions, I refuse to play overpowered decks or decks that have no counter, and I've reached to the conclusion that the reason the games are so fast now is to counter highlander, Specifically Brann. Ive noticed too that vs current meta decks some board centered decks do good, but these struggle vs Highlander because they have so much removal and control. The problem is not Whisbang, like other people have commented, it seems that the older expansions are just that powerful, theres only but a few win conditions on whisbang, its more of an "utility/tools" expansion the way I see it, to have a way to craft stronger combos later on or stronger older decks. Maybe thats where the "toymaker" theme comes from too, like being a toymaker yourself? I think im excited to see what are gonna be new fun game conditions in upcoming expansions, Hearthstone has been way more fun ever since I decided to play for fun with decks experimentation than focusing solely on winning. Sorry for my English, not my first language.
Voyage and Nathria actually brought me back to the game a couple of weeks, which is absurd given I had vowed to stop playing altogether after Galakrond's Awakening released.
Also, thank you for always making content for us Rarran, you're my favorite hearthstone CZcamsr, but please feel free to take breaks from the game if you need to, and safe travels, hope you have a good time! :)
I've kinda stopped playing the game entirely. I originally quit because of the weekly quest shenanigans. But now that it's fixed - I can't even return. My time away has made me realize that playing against control warrior in 50% of my games is an experience I'd rather avoid.
7:10
I do play less at those times when it seems my deck is not in the roulette of meta contender, and I think every deck I'd be interested in just gets rolled if If dont run the hard counter
Seems like blizzards design philosophy recently is to make everyone do the most broken thing possible first and balance between classes second
I will never not be excited for new stuff. But, I have mostly been in wild until standard freshens up a bit and falling in love with HS all over again
Just listening to this as a podcast is great, I didn't even watch the gameplay
12:40 You mentioned burn out and overloading yourself on one game, but imo one of the worst things you can do is just play a single game non stop, have a couple games that you always come back to and play some single player games too and you'll enjoy gaming a lot more and not feel burnt out
Video idea, do a series somewhat like the expansions series, but duel with the best decks from those expansion
Example:
Classic, best decks from Classic
Naxx, best decks from Naxx
And so on
That last game was peak silver 5 content
Hi Rarran, this is completely unrelated to anything, but please check out Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, it's an RPG made out of cards which I think is a really cool concept you might enjoy, as the card game guy.
Midway thru the expansion was the change of the Quest-System and at this point, I was asking my self, if I really wanna continue playing HS. Took a break for two weeks and came back for BG, but the meta this expansion was awful
Maybe they should just do the Great Reset and establish a new standard with existing cards but rebalance, like the core set or caverns by decreasing the power level by a lot, but still keeping what is fun in modern hearthstone
It’s just crazy that even with the least amount of cards in standard, every class is infinite
The bot flood in lower ranks makes It Impossible to comeback to the game
Where is the deck code
I think ultimately the theme of WBW was a bit nebulous and hard to grasp. Everyone can get that Badlands is your typical cowboy/western theme, but WBW is like "whimsical gepetto toymaker/fairytale/games" themed? Kinda felt a bit weird.
It was exciting but this expansion felt like valley to me, the reno cards, sif, odyn, helya, they all feel like quest rewards you can top deck to near instantly win the game. Also, are they insane? Why would you bring back Leroy Jackson, that card was never fun and can only become problamatic. Edit: Timewinder also sucks
19:46 It wasn't lethal because the silence also removes your 5/5 stats from the banker and the snake, giving you -3 attack, but +4 from the silenced titan. And i am not sure if silencing your Ziliax and Titan for just 1 more damage is worth it
U attack with the snake and banker then use the buff and attack with the rest
@@mikewilliams-jw8jd not lethal, still missing 4 attack. The Titan has 3 atack, so +1 = 4 attack and the zilliax has 4, +1, still 5.
The enemy was at 8 hp at the end of the turn, he is still missing 4 attack from somewhere else.
I sometimes misplay
I think when the expansion is not impactful enough, im less inclined to play since the new cards arent seeing as much play and I dont like seeing the old decks all the time, death knight is stuck with plagues since Titans and i havent been playing it as much because of that. Whizbang did a great job pushing new decks and new cards so its been an expansion ive played a lot in. Also i started playing during TGT
I've stopped playing standard as much. I play a decent amount of battlegrounds duos though
I am not ready to rock ahaha
Yese, I don't enjoy high power hearthstone, multiple card generations, too much removal and the ability to put giant things in the board over and over again, aggro never running out of resoureces, having a lot of burn from hand are all things that makes me play a lot less.
Sure, older metas had those things but it usually were 1 or 2 of those at the same time.
The last time I really enjoyed hs was the twist format with caverns of times.
Rip rarran you where the best frech hs yt
I just play hearthstone around 3 times a week. More often now because of the new twist mode, the recent big card buffs and nerfs, and mini set.
I play the most when a new expansion comes out.
But if their's an overpowered deck like that demon hunter weapon one. I then take a break because it's all I see on the ladder, and it's way too annoying and boring to fight against.
I dunno, I've really not been enjoying Hearthstone recently. (And I've been playing since release) Wild (my main mode) has sucked ass for god knows how long, Standard just isn't fun (I tried it recently after not having done so since it came out)
I REALLY want a Hearthstone: Cataclysm where they send everything to Wild, and reset the powerlevel of the game.
I would like more dark expansions for Hearthstone, more serious cards.
Spends 20 minutes griefing about missed lethal when you never had it...truly burnt-out
thank you Rarran, because of players like you highlander priest mirrors are not infinite
I don't think most of Stormwind was as strong as last year. Really only one Questline sees play in Wild and that's only because of synergies with cards that weren't in Standard with the Demon Seed. I think Titans was just stronger.
If Hearthstone made you think games are not fun anymore, it's time to run away as fast as you can. The most stale and boring CCG can not be allowed to make you feel that way. There are so many awesome games coming out each year, it pains me to see you waste your time on this garbage.
I think you can easily become a variety games streamer. You have a fun personality and probably a loyal chunk of the fanbase. I think I would even subscribe if you start playing anything else.
Lord have mercy, What did I just watch?
Still Fun tho. Enjoy your vacation!
Hearthstone is enjoyable, when you don't play competitively.
Same, I've never made it out of low platinum, and the meta there is usually much more fun than what people in yt comments are talking about
Hope you think about this your entire break
Brother I love your channel but that 2nd game was ruthlessly brutal to watch 🙄
HONEY WOKE UP, DAY BETTER
The miniature keyword was bad. Way too boring. Wow, play a card, and now I get a bigger card.
Excavate was cool and added a random unique card.
Forge was the same tier as tradable.
Finale fit and easy to pull off. You want to use your mana so it made sense, just that some of the effecta aren't that strong.
Overall we need cooler and impactful keywords.
Most of the time it just leads to more value for the late game.
Finale actually impacted the board immediately.
bring back upgraded heroes like many years ago
Hope you have a lovely no-HS vacation :)
Missplaykng for context this is just your whole stream is it not?
I’m so confused, I feel like this expansion has been good but low power and the only reason it feels so strong is because of rotation. Can someone explain why it’s so strong to some people outside of rotation ?
Tbh i really didnt enjoy this set because i like to play the fun stuff but the set is so powerful its always the same decks
I think this standard is a lot of fun after all the balancing settled, a lot of different decks across all the classes that are roughly on the same power level.
I also think that WW is not and never was a real culprit of early problems in the format, at least not solely. All three expansions from the last year were absolutely packed.
Also Leeroy is a hell of a card to have in standard.
Just kill silvanas with 4/2 give away titan and make 1/1 titan
GG but not WP xDD lol
this was the worst thing I have seen
Because of the Shadowtouched Kvaldir u got at 27:00 and played at 27:05 your Zilliax at 40:29 damaged you instead of healing you.
