I learned to sew from my mom who was a dress designer. She never taught me this. 😆 ...... She and I are going to have words..... 😂🤣 I love V-necks as the regular ones always make me feel like I'm choking. I alter most of my T's to fit in the body, but never attempted the collar. Thanks for the how-to.
I did it! I used a neck band from another T-shirt, because this one had a decorative neckline that I had to cut off. I watched and re-watched your tutorial… And I was successful! Thank you so much!
Great video!...hate the crew neck... Getting ready to alter everything I own.
This video is so much more helpful than the last twenty I’ve watched on altering T-shirt neckilines
This is so fabulous! Not only is it easy to understand and implement but is looks finished and not like a "homemade" alteration. Thank you so much!
Wow! Thank you so very much for this tip. I am not a fan of crew neck t-shirts, but in the past year I bought one to encourage an amazing band called "Double Experience". With the help of your very clear and precise instructions I just altered my t-shirt in under 10 minutes! Guess what I'll be wearing today? Ha, ha. I will be sharing your video with my family and friends. Thanks again.
I have watched so many videos and your’s is the first one that made sense. I’m going to go change some t-shirts right now!!! Thank you for the video.
I totally agree...I'm going to do a few alterations now. Thanks 👍
Yes I watched a few others and exactly how to do the v part was not clear thanks for making such a clear concise video. Good job.
Awesome tutorial! I have never worn t-shirts as I am 5’3”. 118 lbs. and I always feel “frumpy” in them. However, at a cute boutique in town I found an adorable tee in women’s sizing and loved it except for the round t-shirt neckline. I converted it following your excellent video. It looks great! Thank you!
I just tried this on an older tee. Know what mistakes I made. On to my work tees.
Thanks for this video. I altered a crew neck tee shirt today and I now have a V-neck, which is more flattering on me. I practiced on an old shirt - it's not perfect, a little puckery - but the steam iron smoothed it out. I see now why you suggested not stitching all the way over to the point of the "V" on both sides. I think I've got the hang of it now and will do better on the next one. Thank you again.
Thank you...I'm in Florida for winter and come across all these cute tshirts but do not like the crew neck...Now I can buy them all 😂...you made the instructions so easy it took me less then hour Thank-you again...
💯% what I was looking for. And under 5 minutes! Big thank you.
I DID IT. And it took less than 30 minutes. I am SO happy. Even my husband is impressed.
Literally came out 10000 times better than what I had imagined it was going to turn out! Thank you so much seriously! It was perfect! Just maybe add like 3 seconds after you explain and show the next step so I can stop and press pause as I follow lol. Thank you so much I am very satisfied with my new v neck :)
Best one so far! Very professional looking with detailed instructions in a clear video and what a wonderful instructor you are! Keep doing what you’re doing 👍
I've watched this technique demonstrated once before. I really appreciate your demonstration, because you were much more detailed with your explanation. This technique of converting a crew neckline into a V-neckline is so much or polished than just stretching the band without cutting it. Thanks for sharing!
This is one of the best videos I've seen on how to redo it a t-shirt. The first person I watched I ended up cutting the front and the back of my shirt. And I also cut off the entire crew neck because she didn't tell me when to stop she just said remove it didn't say remove the first part of it and she didn't tell me to be careful not to cut the back of the shirt needless to say I put a lot of work into that I even tried to continue sewing it to see if it would work it was a mess.
I've continued to subscribe to your channel and thank you
I'd like to subscribe. Very good ttutorial!!
Thanks for the video! I bought a concert tshirt that is basically choking me and this video gives me confidence that I can pull it off with my beginner skills!
I'm carving my shirt from Hamilton! Why do so many band / show shirts come up so high??
Clearest and easiest to follow tutorial I found on this process. Thank you.
so glad you liked it :)
Thank you so much for this! I’m an absolute beginner, been sewing for just three weeks and just managed to do this. The result isn’t perfect and I now know what to do differently next time, but I now have a PJ top that is wearable whereas before it wasn’t. Thank you!
Thank you! This is so much better than other tutorials! I'm changing the (very snug and uncomfortable) necks on my work uniform shirts and they need to look decent. This is the only one Ive found that doesnt look like it was done to create casual/party clothes!
Thank you so much for your vid! I've watched several vids trying to learn this technique, and yours is the clearest and simplest description!!! TFS!💗💗💗
This is by far the best tutorial for this I have seen.Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic tutorial! Definitely saving this one, I suspect this is going to come very much in handy.
This is awesome and so clear! Thank you so much for sharing this tip! Tried it and it worked really well!
Thank you for making this tutorial, it's incredibly helpful!
I’m definitely giving this a try. Crew necks on t-shirts usually make me feel like I’m choking
I did it! I took my time. I ironed out any curls in the fabric before I sewed. But I did it. Thank you so much!
I’ve watched several of these videos, this is the best one! Way to go good job!!❤
I did this for a neighbor. She thinks I'm a genius🤣🤣🤣
I love this technique. I buy bright t-shirts when they are on sale and turn them all into v-necks. This is my summer wardrobe! I also turn up the sleeves to cuff and stitch in place. People can't believe I do this myself. Classy!
Wow. I was skeptical at first watching this but in the end it looked fantastic! Nice job. Thanks for posting this.
This is great. I like v-neck t-shirts more than the crew neck shirts.
Me too!
Best demo that I have seen yet. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this video, it was so helpful and easy to follow :D
Wow! Thank you!
I love videos showing how to alter or repair your own clothes - I’m so glad I’m subscribed to your channel 🥰
Thanks for subbing!
Perrrfect...This video is so well detailed with such clarity. Perfect finish too.. thanks for the video..
Thank you so much I used your tutorial to make this for my daughter on a sport tee and it turned out great!
Great Video. It was easy to follow and I actually did it. Came out great. One thing I wish I did was to do only 1 1/2 inch "V" on my first try. But I still did it.
I watched few videos but I understood everything properly after watching this video...well explained.... 👍
This is the best vireo for this alteration I have seen! Thanks!
I'm so proud of myself. Thankyou for the tutorial ❤.
YAY! This is absolutely brilliant - thank you!
Love this video and can’t wait to try this.
Thank You so much for a great video! Loved how you used a light colored shirt. I purchased 4 mens size Medium sweatshirts because I like longer sleeves and longer length shirts but the neckline is so tight. Can't imagine a guy getting these over the head let alone be comfortable. The opening measures 13 inches! Looking forward to making these into a V-Neck!
So I thought I would try this out first and then make a comment. I'm a beginner and what can I say? It worked! You explained it very well. I must admit that I ended up with a pucker (maybe I can fix that..) and it was very wobbly, but that is because I meant it too good and altered it too much for my shirt ;-) That's the experience I guess. Thanks anyway, great video! xo from Switzerland ♥
Thx! i have seversl crew neck tees that I like except I prefer vee neck. Just converted my first one today using your video and it came out perfect.
This is a great tutorial. My mom and I were just discussing this topic (i.e. Crew to V) and she thought this was more clear than any other tutorial she had watched. I tried this technique on an old shirt and it works very well. I did, however, finish the neckband with my coverstitch machine.
I so needed this tutorial!! Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Love this video, I have just finished 5 of them!
This is wonderful I have about 50 T-shirt's I have been needing to do this to thank you!
Great job so well done, just perfect for me as I have a few round neck tea shirts that I would prefer v neck thank you....
Wow! Thank you for this video!
This worked fantastic. Thank you so much!!!
Love it
You explained it so well and video helped a lot
Thank you so much for sharing❤😊
Excellent video! Thank you!
Perfect instructions! Thanks!
Amazing. I've always wanted to try this
Awesome tutorial. Also: your manicure is beautiful.
Good instructions!
This is BRILLIANT! I can't wait to try it, I love t-shirts but they always feel like they are strangling me. THANK YOU!
So good. Thank you!!!💗
This is so clever and professional!!!
I have a few t-shirts I need to do this to. Thank you!
Lovely idea! Thanks!
Wow can't wait to try this!!!!
Great tutorial. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for this very simple and very clear instructional video! I LOVE IT! I have two or three tshirts that I LOVE but need them Vneck. Going to try this on those shirts!!! Appreciate much! - Judith, director of Biblical Prepping
Absolutely brilliant
Wonderful video! I would finish it off by doing a top stich that would meet up with the original stiching that is now on the back neck. If the tread is slightly different in color from the original, I would probably stich over the original stiching to make it blend and to further secure the original stiching at the end points. Thank you for sharing this!
very clear, thank you
excellent tutorial thank you
Great hack to know! Thank you!!!
Thanks. That’s brilliant
You always have the best videos.
I love this and need to try it.
Magnificent! Thank youuuuu
Mine came out PERFECT thanks to this video!!
This was a great tutorial! I have a vneck that got a little hole right under the v. I’m going to use your tutorial to fix it! Thanks!!
This is so simple! Thank you!
VBS T-Shirts, here I come!
OMG, yes. Why are Church shirts always stupid crew necks?
Thankyou. perfect neckline
Great top tip. Thank you 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Great video😊
EXCELLENT video and description. I find it hard to buy v-necks. I am DEFINITELY going to try this. THANK YOU!😊😊😊
Thank you so much. My daughter inlaw ask me to this. Your video is so good!
Glad it was helpful!
I just did it... I have another one to do. Thanks 😊. It turned out good 👍 😊 😀
Прекрасная работа. Спасибо. 👍👍
I basically can't wear anything but a v neck due to sensory issues. This concept is super great and I'm very excited about it, however the smaller V made out of the crew neck hem isn't going to be big enough.
For the life of me I can't figure out where to buy the new neck hem and can't find the other video you're talking about.
Just a suggestion for anyone else having this problem- use the matching one for the front, and maybe you have another tee you could use for the back. Same color or mixed, it might look super cool!
Pinned! Thank you!
And I just realized that if you want a deeper v neckline, you could remove all of the rib knit trim including the back, and use it on the front of the shirt. Then you could get a store-bought rib knit trim, which probably won’t match exactly, for the back of the neck line.
that is true! But if you wear your hair really long, maybe no one will notice ;D
You are a genius!
Very good one
This tutorial could not have come at a better time! Thanks for the very informative tutorial ☺️
You're so welcome!
Thank you, most helpful.
Was a little confusing at first but watched the video over and it worked great. Thanks.
This was a great tutorial!!
Well, this wonderful video got you another subscriber 😉😊
Brilliant teacher
Thank you!
Perfect! I have several men's tee shirts (favorite teams.) They'll have a completely new look!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I need to change my husbands T shirts to V neck from round. He was in a major accident, broke his neck in 4 vertabraes and had a trecheotomy, so all his shirts seems to choke him. This looks sort of hard, but I will watch over and over and start with a crappy shirt. Thanks again!
May seem simple to most .. but be sure to cut only the front and not the back of the shirt 😞
What a great video! Do you need to use a stretch stitch when sewing?
