  • Today i'm driving Leon his RHD Mitsubishi FTO 2.0 where he just fitted wheel spacer on. I really love the Mivec, it reminds me of my Honda Civic EP3 Type-R when it hits 6000RPM! It's a Japanese import which means it is RHD and JDM!

Is this stock? Sounds great and I am looking to get this as a first car, is there anything you would recommend checking on used cars that are a must for example additional options or potential defects that are typically an issue? (other than the wheel spacers haha)

I've owned a couple of these and in my experience a few of the main things to look for are blown heater core (heater core has been bypassed, most people do this because replacing the core requires removing the entire dash), cracked gearlever and radio surround (this is very fragile on most FTOs), failed bulbs in the dash, worn out/broken indicator stalks (seems fairly common), wear/holes in seat bolsters (very common), and the biggest issue, especially in some countries, RUST. Especially in strut towers and around suspension assembly, also under the door sills. Options to look for are electronic antenna, rear windshield wiper, GP Version R or "B" spoiler, sunroof. Hope this comment wasn't too late lol
